Job Description

Applies all incoming cash receipts and wire payments to the appropriate general ledger accounts. Computes interest charges, processes refunds and related items. Performs periodic and month-end balancing and reporting activities.Note: Does not include employees involved in premium billing and collections.You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Responsibilities Applies knowledge/skills to activities that often vary from day to day. Demonstrates a moderate level of knowledge and skills in own function. Requires little assistance with standard and non-standard requests. Solves routine problems on own. Works with supervisor to solve more complex problems. Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet agreed upon deadlines. Works with others as part of a team. Ensure client metrics are being met by following up on claim status, reprocessing, and appeals with the payer via website or phone call Review and work aging reports and special projects as identified Escalate payor issue trends for leadership consideration along with possible solutions Identify payer trends and/or issues on denials from insurance companies Knowledge of CMS1500, UB, COB, PHI and other medical terminology. Navigate and work within Practice management systems, insurance websites and checking claims status Develops and deliver documentation, training, and job aids as it relates to AR procedures. Consistently follow internal processes as well as meet or exceed monthly quality and productivity standards You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of experience in working medical insurance follow-up 2+ years of working in a Practice Management System (Example: Epic, GECB, Athena IDX and etc) Careers with Optum.
