OVERVIEW
We're looking for a Senior Accountant who will be a key contributor to our recurring team.
Compass East is based in Nashville, TN, but this role is remote-friendly for all candidates.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON
The Senior Accountant will oversee general accounting operations and be a primary contact to their client for all day to day, and cyclical accounting functions. Your responsibilities will include:
-Leading: Lead and coordinate a team of 2-4 staff accountants and bookkeepers.
-Account Management: Supervise and participate in the performance of general ledger accounting and month-end close procedures in a multi-client environment.
-Implementing: Assist in the design and implementation of client accounting processes and procedures to support financial functions.
-Thorough Work Review: Detail review and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for client management, advisors and stakeholders in accordance with GAAP and other applicable accounting methods.
-Prepare: Prepare budgets and lead analysis of client business trends and performance
-Represent Compass East: Represent team as daily point-of-contact for multiple clients
-Project Management: Manage multiple projects and financial duties in a multi-client environment
-Effective Communication: Effectively communicate with third-party vendors and state agencies
-Team player: Report directly to Assistant Controller within Compass East
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Accounting.
• 2+ years in an accounting or finance environment (i.e. public or private). Double-entry accounting system experience such as Quickbooks, Xero, Intacct, Great Plains, NetSuite, Sage, etc. a plus
• Accounting concepts and understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, GAAP
• Strong problem solving skills and a solutions-oriented approach.
• A collaborative mindset. A passion for the "collaborative win": hitting/exceeding goals and achieving success together as a team.
• Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and communication skills
COMPENSATION
60-70k Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided, commensurate with experience. Total offer package to include benefits highlighted under our perks section below.
