Under limited direction, essential functions include one, or more, of the following: analyze and perform key accounting processes (G/L, B/S, Recon.) related to AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Revenues, Taxes and Expenses. Being able to complete financial statements/tax forms with the knowledge and understanding of the insurance business and statutory accounting.

Execute but also monitor and oversee the various steps and work of others in completion of financial statements/tax forms. Participate in performing accounting functions within Oracle such as, preparing and completing journal entries/ tax returns and timely account reconciliations (Expenses, Revenue, Losses etc ) through analysis of information related to the various inputs of the general ledger. Based on capacity, can also perform above functions as Accountant II level.

The above includes working with AR and AP departments on monthly accruals needed for monthly financial statements and research of problem or processing errors of reconciliation of accounts.

Schedules & Reports: Prepping of the accounting, tax, and audit schedules and analyses related to closing a period. Prepare cash flow reconciliation & projections. Reconcile G/L and B/S reports; identify/investigate and resolve issues/gaps by using the appropriate application. Key role in financial statement presentations and analytical reports (KPIs/OKRs).

Statutory accounting: Preparation of quarterly and yearly financial reporting and NAIC filling. Which can include preparation of work papers and state premium tax assessments / filings. Including the Preparation and organization of all tax returns and/or prep cash flow reconciliation & projections. Which means oversee and assist with the completion of reports and filings for states and regulatory agencies.

Provide organized information to both internal & external auditors and coordinat e annual audit parts, statutory audits and reviews. Which includes preparing audit work papers and account analyses. Collaborate with Agency departments daily.

Additional Information:

This position is a full time salaried, exempt (non overtime eligible) position
