Security Guard

Role Overview

ID.me is seeking a full-time Security Guard responsible for providing superior physical security services in addition to emergency response planning for our and McLean office(s). The Security Guard will display exceptional customer service and communication skills. This position is a physical security role in which security guards are required to observe and report as they patrol the premises and monitor camera feeds.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas to deter unauthorized entry, protect ID.me property, and perform entry controller duties
• Monitor and secure all entry control points, ensuring each person is validated upon entry
• Exercise judgment and use discretion in dealing with emergencies and security violations encountered
• Receive specialized training in methods and techniques of protecting security areas
• Control access to building and grounds allowing access under company policy
• Protect personnel and property in a professional manner
• Provide first aid, CPR and assist during emergencies as necessary
• Be fully familiar with building layout, floor plans, manual fire alarm locations, fire extinguisher locations, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) locations, emergency routes, and evacuation assembly points
• Remain on post until properly relieved and pass all information relevant to the post to the relieving Security Officer
• Perform activities in exterior and interior work environments, sometimes in inclement weather
• Perform other duties as assigned and shift flexibility as needed

Qualifications

• 1 year in a security position
• High School Diploma or GED
• A valid US Driver's License
• Fluently read, write, speak and understand English
• Ability to perform shift work
• Basic first aid skills 
• Qualification/certification as a security guard or military

ID.me Covid Vaccination Requirement

ID.me has a mandatory vaccination requirement where not prohibited by applicable federal or state law.

All current and future employees are required to receive their COVID-19 vaccinations, unless a reasonable accommodation is approved. Employees not in compliance with this policy will be placed on leave and will be terminated if no valid reason for not getting the COVID-19 vaccine is provided.

This policy will comply with all applicable laws and is based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health authorities, as applicable.

Reasonable Accommodation: Current and future employees in need of an exemption from this policy due to a medical reason, or because of a sincerely held religious belief must submit a completed Request for Accommodation form to the human resources department to begin the interactive accommodation process as soon as possible after vaccination deadlines have been announced (September 13th) and an offer of employment has been made. Accommodations will be granted where they do not cause ID.me undue hardship or pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others.
