And, together, each and every member of our aerospace team makes a difference.TOGETHER WE MAKE THE BIG AMBITIONS OF TOMORROW HAPPEN TODAYWe are currently looking for aSales and Business Development Managerto join Thales.TheSales and Business Development Manager will be part of the Thales USA Flight Avionics team and is responsible to grow the defense and civil business in the USA for both fixed wing and rotorcraft markets, including pre-bid phase, RFXs response, the design of the solution and the integration and certification of the system in the aircraft. Thales is currently looking for an experienced Sales & Business Development Manager in order to support its Flight Avionics division expansion and growth for both military and civil markets in the U.S.A.For this position, remote work is allowed. Thales has multiple offices in USA and the successful candidate will be allowed to work from any of them if needed.The Sales & Business Development Manager will report to the Director, Sales & Business Development - Flight Avionics NORAM.In line with the Sales, Marketing and Strategic policies, the Sales & Business Development Manager will lead the business development activities, commercial negotiations and sales of products or systems to existing and potential customers.The sales & BD managers main roles will be to maximize the order intake and gross margins with current account and to develop new accounts. He/she will manage all activities related to his/her assigned accounts and BD objectives and be the voice of customer at Thales. He/she will ensure that customer requests are fulfilled in a timely manner and that proposals are aligned with the customer request. He/she will also be responsible to support product policy and strategy to develop new offers by feeding them with intelligence and customer requirements and market trends.Finally, the sales & BD manager will have a strong leadership role to play in leading Integrated Customer Teams (ICT) and by assuming a capture leader role during bid process (RFI/RFP). He/she will ensure that strategic, programmatic, legal and commercial aspects are taken into account in the preparation such proposals, in concurrence with the Business Development Director.The candidate will be a key element in the development of new customers /markets and help to grow Thales activities in North America. This role will have a direct impact on customer satisfaction and business growth and will have great visibility with Thales Group.Key Responsibilities:Be responsible for one or more major OEM account(s);Find new opportunities, promote and sell products and systems;Develop and enhance commercial relationship with the existing and new customers;Act as Capture Leader;Build and review business case for relevant opportunities;Address RFPs, DCRs, replacement of obsolete systems, etc.;Coordinate the propositions, negotiate and assist in the realization of the programs.Initiate business development opportunitiesAchieve sales targets and development goals;Increase sales figures and increase the products and services sold to customers;Anticipate and manage the requirements of existing and potential customers;Communicate customer requirements and product direction towards the development and roadmap of new products (to facilitate the Product Policy);Effectively manage and develop the relationship with customers;Insure compliance to internal processes (CHORUS);Detect new business opportunities (existing or new products);Actively participate in Bid activities as Capture Leader;Lead contract negotiations;Participate in the preparation of forecasts (SITCOM).Ability to travel 75% or greater to meet customers, primarily within US;Occasional travel internationally (mainly to France & Canada);Required Skills and Experience:Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Engineering or in an appropriate discipline required;10 years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry;Excellent English written and oral communication skills;Customer oriented: ability to listen to the customer and propose new and innovative business solutions;Excellent ability to work in a team, strong interpersonal skills, leadership and professional presentation skills;Discipline and organization in the preparation of decisions gates of bidding documents (pricing sheets, business case, etc.);Capacity to work in an international and multicultural environment;Great knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.Working knowledge of complex avionics and aircraft systems;Experience in negotiationLeadership skillsPreferred Qualifications:MBA or equivalent is an asset;Experience with working/selling in the US military market and to the US DoD is an asset;Experience with working/selling to Boeing is an asset;Experience in the drone/eVTOL market is an assetFormer military experience is an asset;Working knowledge of French is an asset;High energy, team oriented, data driven and results focused;Ability to stay cool under pressure;Are you ready to be part a part of something big?
