Job Description

The Sales and Marketing Operations Analyst is a key informant to our sales and marketing focus. Working with the SVP of Operations, SVP of Marketing and other sales and marketing team members, this role is responsible for gathering, qualifying, and organizing both market intelligence and internal sales and marketing insights to inform priority of sales and marketing efforts. A passion for market research, data, analytics and business value is essential as this role takes the lead in developing, implementing, and executing the organization of information needed to drive the sales and marketing plan for a rapidly growing business.

Essential Responsibilities:
    • Lead research projects gathering information across the events industry using both primary and secondary research
    • Inform priority of sales and marketing efforts through research and analysis of potential opportunities, measuring against and iterating on RainFocus' Ideal Customer Profile
    • Synthesize data and present findings to drive future target accounts, events, and contacts to support sales and marketing efforts
    • Organize, evaluate and communicate sales and marketing analytics and insights to improve sales and marketing performance
    • Assist with documentation of project requirements, timelines, research design, development of research tools (such as surveys and interview guides), data collection, data quality control, analysis and reporting
    • Manage any external research vendors, including setting project requirements with vendors, training vendors on procedures, monitoring vendors' execution and quality, answering questions, and directing vendors on any analytical or reporting support
    • Maintain and organize information in RainFocus' CRM (Salesforce)
    • Become a subject matter expert on key market segments and internal sales and marketing data

Required Skills and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Strong quantitative and analytical skill set
    • Superb project management skills
    • Experience conducting primary research and quantitative/qualitative analysis of secondary research
    • Experience leading external research vendors/agencies
    • Understanding of research principles, such as survey design, semi-structured interview design, etc.
    • Experience with survey tools/software
    • Flexible approach to execute project work and project management the work, whatever is needed
    • Excellent people skills to interact with colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties
    • Ability to effectively communicate with senior level decision makers, both verbal and written
    • A track record of creative thinking and proactive problem solving
    • Understands the importance of dealing with change and ambiguity and welcomes the challenge of adapting to evolving needs of the business
    • Ability to work in a high-energy team environment; team player
    • Positive and energetic phone skills, excellent listening skills, strong writing skills
    • Proficient in Salesforce, LinkedIn, and Excel
    • Experience with enterprise SaaS companies is preferred
    • Events industry experience a plus

    • Help RainFocus grow it's list of target accounts, identify key players, and develop opportunities within specific geographies, market segments to fuel sales and marketing
    • Help RainFocus gain a competitive advantage by building the leading market research database
    • Ensure "research-grade" quality inputs and explore new data sources in a data entrepreneurial way
    • Able to find creative solutions to data problems
    • Become an events industry expert
    • Qualify opportunities and transition them to the sales and marketing funnel
    • Be the catalyst for new revenue into the pipeline
    • Outbound contacting to companies via cold calling and email
    • Conduct high level discovery calls with event industry players and decision makers
    • Help develop targeted lists, call strategies, and messaging to drive opportunities in various market segments
    • Manage, track, and report on all activities and results using
    • Capture and report on sales and marketing performance, industry trends, and competitive intelligence
    • Ease of collaboration with the marketing team and sales
    • On time delivery of projects

Office environment. Travel will not be required.
