NEXGEN is looking for a seasoned Sales Executive who is ready to build an exciting career in software sales, with a focus on municipalities, utilities, and facility asset management markets. Applicant must be an enthusiastic and highly organized individual who is confident and strategically minded. Our ideal candidate is a problem solver who is outgoing, relational, and skilled at closing deals.

The Sales Executive will oversee the sales process at all stages of the sales pipeline for a cutting-edge asset management software solution (Enterprise Asset Management/Computerized Maintenance Management System) for high profile clients across the U.S. and Canada.

This role will be responsible for managing a list of leads and opportunities, and nurturing prospects to move them along the sales cycle. The Sales Executives role will revolve around the ability to network and build relationships with clients by researching potential users, cold calling leads, scheduling product demos, following up with hot leads, and representing NEXGEN at conferences across the country.

The Sales Executive is part of the Business Development team and will report directly to the VP of Business Development and Marketing. This is full time remote position reporting to our Sacramento, CA office. Based on experience two weeks to a month of training will be required from the Sacramento Office. Travel to the Sacramento Office required four times per year.

JOB DUTIES:

Sales:

  • Manage/update/follow up with leads in CRM (Zoho CRM)
  • Research and evaluate current and upcoming RFPs (request for proposals). Help in the proposal creation process, including attending pre-proposal webinars and submitting questions to determine if NEXGEN should submit a proposal.
  • Make sales calls to new and existing clients
  • Nurture opportunities along the sales pipeline to move towards eventual closure
  • Become an expert in government procurement processes and strategically influence purchasing decisions
  • Attend industry conferences (3-5 / year)
  • Assist in pre/post conference marketing efforts
  • Prepare agendas, content and demos for interviews
  • Work with account management team to develop sales strategies for existing clients and track potential deals from existing clients
  • Generate new leads
  • Develop and conduct effective demos for potential clients
  • Assist in development of sales proposals
  • Work closely with project delivery team during new client handover
  • Perform quality checks on product and service delivery
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships

SALES EXECUTIVE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 5-10 years previous sales experience preferred, bonus points if you have software sales experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
