Remote Underwriter for an Established Mortgage Lender

We are a nationally established correspondent lender with a mission to provide the highest quality loans to our customers in Colorado, California, Texas, and Arizona. With 20 years of experience in mortgage lending, we are looking for an experienced Remote DE Underwriter to help expand our underwriting capabilities. Nearly all of our management team has been promoted internally, as we prioritize fostering and growing talent for the long haul. We also enthusiastically sponsor LAPP-SAR certification for team members who have proven their interest in higher responsibilities!

What You Will Be Doing

• Evaluate Conventional and Government Loan applications for creditworthiness, completeness of pertinent documentation, and compliance with underwriting standards
• Analyze complex loans which require multiple follow-up documentation requests and underwriting discretion to properly evaluate
• Communicate with sales and support teams to ensure accuracy of all documentation throughout the application process
• Follow underwriting guidelines and best practices to ensure the most prudent final decision in each application
• Give final approval or denial of all files and communicate decisions with quick, efficient turn-around time
  

What You Need for this Position

• At least 4 Years of Experience in Mortgage Underwriting (preferably with direct lenders and not banks)
• Competence in Encompass software
• DE/CHUMS ID active (LAPP/SAR a plus, but not required)
• The ability to work remotely and communicate effectively with a nationwide team
