Job Description Primary Purpose:Responsible for being involved in and contributing directly to test web applications using automation. Individuals in this role must be an experienced software quality assurance professional. They may work on Windows, iOS, Mainframe, Linux and/or Web applications. This position works collaboratively with the QA Manager/Architect, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, and other QA team members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.Work with Automation Architect and on daily basis for planning, executing and enhancing test automation infrastructure involving functional and load testsDesign and develop test automation scripts using Java, Selenium Grid and TestNG on a Page Object Model(POM) based FrameworkAble to code and deploy functional automation scripts with minimal supervisionPick up manual test cases from completed sprints and convert them to functional automated scripts on continual basisFind more efficient ways to design, develop, maintain and execute functional automationWrite custom x-paths and generate reliable web-element identifiers for Selenium APIUpdate and maintain traceability matrices to ensure test coverage with the approval of QA LeadershipExecute test scripts accurately and efficientlyCapture and communicate the results of testing accurately and clearlyProvide accurate report of test progress to the QA Leadership team and follow up with development team on defects and may participate in root cause analysis discussions for all defectsPro-actively follow up with QA management on issues and escalations and provide suggestions for possible resolutionsWork with members of Business Analysis, Application Development, and Project Management to assure timely completion of testing plansAssist in all phases of code deployments; including, but not limited to, off-hours support and an occasional weekend Minimum Skills and Competencies:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience3+ years of experience in carrying out independent test automation responsibilitiesExperienced in Object Oriented Programming and Java, JavaScript, or any other comparable languageSolid understanding of web based front-end testing technologies and methodologies (Selenium, JSON, JavaScript, XML, REST API, etc)Good understanding of source control management, build processes, test environments, bug life cycle, and frequent code release deployment QA support activitiesExperience with manual API testing using Postman, Swagger, SoapUISome knowledge and experience on automated API testing using SoapUI, Rest-assured, Jersey-clientExperienced with mobile app/browser test automation using Appium on real devices and Cloud based test execution platforms including Browser Stack/Sauce LabsSome experience with test automation involving Sendgrid and Twilio messaging through APIMust possess some knowledge and experience working in these domains: C#, .Net, Java, JavaScript, CSS, Jenkins, TestNG, AzureDevops, SQL, HTML, DOM/POM, Xpath, Git, CI/CD, virtual environment, Selenium Grid, Cloud, Angular, iOS, LinuxFamiliarity with enterprise systems, microservices, various architectures, and databasesExperience developing test scripts using automation tools across the various application layers (UI/Service/Data layers) and not just UI layerAbility to schedule automation runs during afterhours or add job to trigger them during deployments to internal and production environmentsSome experience using Selenium GridMust possess effective verbal and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Desired Skills:Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Engineering fieldQA professional with extensive automation backgroundJava expertise with certification is preferredQA with a passion to code for testExperience on Azure .Net environment with familiarity on ASP.Net, VB.Net, C#, and Microsoft SQLKnowledge and experience within Insurance domain#LI-CM1National General Holdings Corp. is an Equal Opportunity (EO) employer - Veterans/Disabled and other protected categories.
