Job Description

The KINA'OLE Foundation is a Native Hawaiian nonprofit corporation. Kina'ole in Hawaiian translates to in Old Hawai'i, if a professional, whether a craftsman, artist, priest, or official, performed a particular task in his line of work, it was expected to be done without defect or flaws. Anything less was not acceptable. In operational terms, Kina'ole means: Doing the right thing, in the right way, at the right time, in the right place, to the right person, for the right reason, with the right feeling the first time! The proposal and marketing assistant is responsible for working with business development, operations groups, project managers up through executive staff, in their pursuits to get work. The proposal and marketing assistant supports the Proposal & Marketing Manager and participates in all stages of the pursuit, from strategy to proposal preparation to presentations, in a deadline-driven environment. This position has the opportunity to transition to full time in the future. Responsibilities:Support in the preparation of qualifications statements and proposals, which involves assisting with research, layout, editing, coordination among team members, and productionDeveloping and updating relevant proposal materials (various templates, firm profile, resumes, project sheets, etc.).Editing content to ensure quality, accuracy, readability, etc.Transforming text-heavy narratives into visual/graphical responsesCoordinate with managers to maintain marketing and business development materials including databases, collateral, client management documents, and other support materialsManage and update information in proposal and marketing databasesMiscellaneous marketing administrative supportPerforming market researchRequirements:Ability to manage multiple assignments under deadline pressureExcellent written and oral communication skillsFlexibility and creativity in responding to deliverable requirementsStrong organizational skills and high attention to detailQualifications:Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, English, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.Experience in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and ExcelProficiency in Adobe InDesignAdobe Photoshop (a working knowledge of the program is a plus, but not a requirement)Minimum of 1-2 years of administrative experience, preferably in proposals, business development, marketing, or comparable industryThis position will be part of the HGS parent company, the Kina'ole Service Center.
