Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 per year

This position is responsible and accountable for developing strategies and managing the our sales team in order to achieve quarterly and annual sales goals, targets and revenue.

Job Details

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The employee will be required to perform other job-related tasks and responsibilities requested by supervisor.

  • Consistently exceed quarterly national sales goals by coaching, mentoring and training members of the sales team to meet their own quarterly revenue goals
  • Recruit, interview and hire new sales team members through social networking software such as LinkedIn, through professional recruiters, through professional associations and through print and electronic advertising channels
  • Monitor direct report compliance with company policies and procedures to ensure essential duties and responsibilities are being met
  • Evaluate direct report sales performance by co-traveling with all field-based sales team members to customer sites
  • Discipline and, if needed, fire poor performing direct reports following company policies and guidelines
  • Create domestic sales reports for each sales territory and include data on progress towards quota to track sales performance
  • Generate sales quotas for each sales territory for each quarter
  • Create and present New-Hire Interim and Annual Evaluations for each sales team member
  • Create Performance Improvement Programs for direct reports that are underperforming in order to clearly identify and potentially correct poor performance
  • Review Quarterly Top 20 sales updates as prepared by direct reports
  • Organize, schedule and manage the National Sales Meeting for all sales and marketing staff
  • Organize, schedule and manage the New Hire Training program. Provide technical and sales training to new hires
  • Create, edit and review all documents pertaining to the managing of the sales group including job descriptions, annual review and interim review templates, hiring procedures, Performance Improvement Plans, etc.
  • Participate in professional Trade Shows and Conferences
  • Other job-related duties, responsibilities and projects as assigned by executive management

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher with Major in Biology, Chemistry or related field from accredited 4-year college. Minimum of 7 years working in field sales and a minimum of 5 years managing field sales personnel while meeting/exceeding performance expectations
  • Fluent speaking, reading, and writing in English
  • College level math skills sufficient to perform sales-related computations
  • Working knowledge of lab instruments used in cell culture, bioprocessing and chemistry
  • Strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; excellent working knowledge (as user) of sales databases and ERP systems
  • Sales Training from a nationally recognized sales training organization
  • Flexible within customer hours; some weekends; 50% or more travel
  • Must reside within the United States near a major airport. Must have a valid driver's license and provide proof of insurance.
