Summary: Pluto TV is looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer for development of new, as well as enhancement of existing, application services powering its Content Systems, which includes PlutoTV's Media Asset Management System (MAM), Content Management System (CMS), and Content Feeds Services (CFEEDS). Candidate must have hands-on experience with Javascript, Node, Express, React and similar JavaScript-based technologies, strong experience leading highly technical teams and deep experience building solutions with AWS services, such as S3, Lambda, ECS and more. This is a technical leadership role, so aspiring lead software engineers or senior software engineers are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include: Full-stack software leadership for the development of a new and improved advanced content feeds management platform for our video services and distribution partners. Lead a team of engineers to dependably deliver our sprint commitments on time and with high quality. Conduct code reviews and ensure junior developers adhere to team's standard methodologies and processes. Develop technical requirements for new projects or improving existing projects with teams. Ensure priority tasks such as production issues are investigated and resolved in a timely manner. Work collaboratively and productively with other project colleagues from Product, Program Management, and QA. Guide realistic (not optimistic) LOE discussions during Quarterly PI planning, accounting for likely set-backs and external constraints. Qualifications: 7+ years of software engineering experience 4+ years of experience developing application services using the MERN stack: Node, Mongo, Express, and React. 3+ years of experience building highly scalable, performant and responsive web applications 3+ years of experience developing applications deployed on AWS 2+ years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience BS degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience Additional Qualifications: 1+ years of Typescript experience 1+ years of Golang experience (nice to have) Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills Experience in the VOD / Media Streaming space ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Hiring Salary Range: $150 000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
