Job Description Primary Purpose:Serve as a subject matter expert in business analysis. The role includes direction of all activities related to performance of business analysis and specification development, ensuring deliverables meet quality and consistency standards. Act as a bridge between the business needs and the technical capabilities of our team. Responsible for directing business analysis activities for the Enterprise. The incumbent will work with business partners, management team and business analyst's to support the delivery of project priorities and resolve issues and problems for the business. Secondarily, individuals in this role will participate in the development process by contributing compliance-related business requirements, ensuring that the resultant systems are appropriately aligned with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), PCI, and other privacy regulations. Seek positive outcomes by working closely with technology teams, operations, IT department, vendors, other departments and business resources to identify and implement solutions that support the business unit's goals. Specific activities may change from time to time.Serve as a subject matter expert in business and systems analysis activities for all business analyst staffDefine and ensure quality and consistency of business analysis activities and deliverablesAnalyze documentation to identify gaps, and work with the business analyst's to close those gaps ensuring that acceptance criteria are clearAct as a liaison with up/downstream groups and ensure that all impacts are identified and considered for all projectsEnsure projects satisfy business objectives and user expectations and address any gaps or failure points identified within existing business processesAct as a liaison and participate in defining technology solutions to solve complex, multidisciplinary business problems with long-term implicationsRecommend solutions to improve business decision-making with a focus on the core systems, technology strategies and standardsSupport orientation, training, and mentoring of new and existing staff as requiredOversee the development of manuals, user guides, and updating policies and proceduresParticipate in and support an environment of professionalism, individual growth, teamwork, development of collaborative relationships, open communication and creative problem solvingWork with the management team, user community, various technical groups and vendors to plan, develop and implement project plans that are consistent with project objectives, financial parameters and business requirements. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience5+ years of experience in BA/QA role participating in a wide range of projects5+ years of experience in a technology environmentMust possess effective verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrates thorough knowledge of business analysis methodologies, and automation and has the ability to transfer knowledge to staffAbility to exercise a high degree of critical thinking and requires taking a strategic, deliberate approach to project development and implementation.Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple efforts concurrently and deliver to established time framesDemonstrates high degree of initiative, mature judgment and discretion, is able to work in fast-paced environmentDemonstrates excellent analytical skills and creative thinking to solve problemsDemonstrates ability to build strong working relationships with business partners Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Proficient using Microsoft tools (Project, Visio, TFS, etc.) Desired Skills:Significant experience in gathering and developing business requirements, which are intended to mitigate risks to the organization, particularly those that help ensure compliance with company and industry-pertinent regulations, such as NYDFS and other Dept of Insurance regs, SOX, PCI, HIPAA, and other privacy-related regulations. Experience deriving detailed business process documentation, including narratives and supporting graphical depictions. Participation in discussions with regulatory examiners, regarding system functionality and pertinent automated application controls.
