You MUST have the following:

• Excellent experience as a Enterprise Architect in finance
• A good understanding of trading in areas such as Fixed Income, equities, FX or commodities
• A current hands-on coding ability in Java, Python or C#
• Strong experience in defining new technical strategy and then overseeing its implementation
• Excellent exposure to public cloud: AWS, Azure or GCP

You will be tasked with working across a Front Office technology division of c. 250 engineers, that is split into about 8 sub-departments, to define and then implement the future technical roadmap and strategy. Since 2018, the area has grown considerably in size and has delivered a significant shift to bring technology in-house. They have also created better technical standardisation, favouring React, Java and Python on AWS. All in-house built applications, which account for 80% of the technology in this area, are hosted on AWS. In terms of enterprise-level financial companies, they are extremely up to date. You will collaborate with engineering managers and heads of department to decide whether to continue to use a number of 3rd party applications in areas such as trade execution and order management, bring the applications in-house, or change provider. For the successful in-house built application suite, you will also help to draw up a roadmap that can be followed consistently and that will exploit the advantages of new products and tooling available on the market.

You will still need to be hands-on and able to code. In some instances, you may be involved in prototyping or overseeing delivery. You will also have come from trading within finance and be familiar with Front Office systems and processes. Finally, you will have strong experience in collaborating with technical and business managers to deliver change and modernisation.

There is flexibility with this role being remote and also part time if required.
