Job Description

Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency, is seeking a Remote DevOps Analyst to join our team at our client’s site in Rensselaer, NY and remote to start.We are looking for a passionate DevOps Analyst who is interested in working on the cutting edge and driving transformation across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with supporting highly available production environments, adherence to SLA (Service Level Agreements) hands-on experience with Java and DevOps practices such as deployment, automation and continuous deployment of highly available services in a 24x7 environment. The candidate should also be comfortable to work independently, collaborate with other teams, multitask, triage production issues, conduct design reviews, provide technical guidance and set operational standards.ResponsibilitiesExecute deployments in 20+ environmentsSupport day-to-day operations and adherence to SLAsWork in shifts and on weekends to support 24x7 operationsInfluence other teams and management to achieve operational goalsLead cross-functional teams to triage Operational Issues and implement new functionalityUnderstand business functionality and create operational modules to monitor for availability and functionalityTriage Production issues including debugging the code in a timely fashionBuild alerting and monitoring solutions for SLA adherence; Analyze operational data to identify trends and determine corrective actionsDesign and Build operational modules to support alerting, monitoring and reportingDocument Operational procedures and create run booksConduct design reviews and operational readinessAssist applications teams to refactor the existing legacy application to fit into the DevOps pipeline/ContainerizationCollaborate within the team and other teams in the organizationLeverage industry standards to automate and increase efficiencyWork with teams to receive feedback and bring continues improvementEducationThe position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related discipline.Required Qualifications• Ten (10) years or more of IT experience• At least five (5) years of experience working in production operations, deployments, infrastructure and scripting in a 24x7 high volume environment• At least (3) years of experience in Java, DevOps and database querying• Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve• Excellent scripting/automation skills in various environments and experience with CI/CD platform• Familiar with the security process automation strategies within a DevOps pipeline• Strong organization and time management skills while working in a rapid software development environment.• Must be able to identify and learn new technologies quickly.• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently• Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of managementDesired Qualifications• Experience with containerization, orchestrators like Kubernetes is preferred• Understanding of encryption standards and SSL implementation• Experience with log consolidation and creating operational reporting using tools like Splunk• Experience with Linux infrastructures, WebSphere, Mulesoft, DB2, CI/CD tools• Up-to-date on the latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently• Experience leading a team and providing technical leadershipBlackstone Talent Group is a division of Blackstone Technology Group, a global IT services and solutions firm that implements technological solutions across commercial industry verticals and the US Federal Government.
