Under guidance and collaboration with the CMDB/Configuration Process Owner, the configuration manager supports the configuration process, its lifecycle, including the CMDB and all CI/Assets. This includes coordination with incident, problem, change, and release management.

Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, updating, and implementing configuration items (CI); control configuration baselines, and audits. CM includes products and services beyond traditional technology assets and CI's.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strong understanding of configuration and ITIL concepts, and assist in documenting configuration management processes and procedures
Establish new CM processes, policies and procedures as directed
Utilize external tools (e.g. ServiceNow)
Monitor and maintain the health and accuracy for the CMDB, including dashboards and reports
Support the maintenance for the Discovery module within ServiceNow.
Set up meetings with configuration management items (CI) owners to ensure they are following the appropriate policies and procedures as well as maintaining as appropriate .
Enable and lead process improvements, including automation to mature the configuration management database (CMDB) processes.
Responsible for configuration management (CM) to include develop, maintain, update, and implement CIs.
Develops or modifies CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the developmental or operational system.
In partnership with ITSM, support efficient and effective service management processes by providing accurate and timely configuration information.
Develop and manage procedures for auditing and verifying the accuracy of CIs, adhering to processes, and identifying process deficiencies

Must haves:

Extensive knowledge in Configuration Management, ServiceNow and CMDB
Service Mapping
ServiceNow Discovery
