Job Description

POSITION SUMMARYCogito business analysts (CBA) implement reporting content and analytics tools. The CBA works full-time to meet end-user data needs. This individual analyzes and defines report requirements, documents specifications, designs, develops, tests, installs, implements, and maintains operational reports for assigned clinical applications. This individual designs and implements robust analytics solutions for advanced projects and self-service needs. Serve as a liaison to the customer and application teams to assure workflows support accurate reporting. The position requires heavy usage of Radar and Reporting Workbench.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEmployees are expected to work consistently to demonstrate the mission, vision, beliefs, core values and standards of behavior of the organization. Works with the Cogito project manager and data analysts to identify and develop appropriate solutions for various reporting needsReviews and approves existing Reporting Workbench templates and creates any needed additional templatesWorks with subject matter experts and data analysts to gather and design specifications for custom report requests and data extractsMaintains the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata recordsAssists the principal trainer with developing training curriculum and training power reporting users.Facilitates report content design and establishes report scope and prioritizationAssists with the translation of end-user workflow-based report requests to specific data points required for report developmentBuilds Radar dashboards for report consumersBuilds Reporting Workbench reports, templates, and extracts. Reviews and approved existing Reporting Workbench templates and creates any additional templates neededCreates data for report testing and ensures that all application dashboards and reports are testedEnsures that consumers are satisfied with reports and distribution toolsPerforms post-live volume testing and evaluates overall consumer happiness with reportsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONSEducation:Minimally Required:BA in the field of computer science or equivalent experience requiredCogito Fundamentals Cogito Tools AdministrationPreferred: Certification in at least one Epic Application: Epic Clinical Applications: Anesthesia, ASAP, Beaker, Cadence/Prelude/Referrals, EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient-Clinical Documentation and Stork, EpicCare Inpatient-Orders, Grand Central, OpTime, Radiant, Resolute Hospital Billing, Resolute Professional Billing, Willow Ambulatory, or Willow InpatientExperience:Minimally Required: Three years' experience with Epic reporting tools including Reporting Workbench, Reporting Workbench Framework, Radar Dashboards, Analytics CatalogTwo or more years' experience with Epic Clinical Applications: Anesthesia, ASAP, Beaker, Cadence/Prelude/Referrals, EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient-Clinical Documentation and Stork, EpicCare Inpatient-Orders, Grand Central, OpTime, Radiant, Resolute Hospital Billing, Resolute Professional Billing, Willow Ambulatory, or Willow InpatientOne or more years' experience with SlicerDicer/CaboodlePreferred:Knowledge:Minimally Required:Well-versed in end-user workflows and understanding of how data is stored discretelyPreferred:Skills:Minimally Required:Skilled at tracking tasks, following processes, documenting progress, defining next steps, identifying owners, and holding people accountable Critical and analytical thinking and excellent customer service skills Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and presentation skillsPreferred:Abilities: Minimally Required: Proven experience translating user stories into technical solutions Proven examples of efficiency driven outcomes Ability to understand customer requirements and their impact on the technical aspects of a solution Must demonstrate adaptability, decision-making, customer focus, and problem-solving skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills.
