About Fusebox Games
Fusebox Games is an award-winning mobile games studio best known for creating narrative-driven experiences including Love Island: The Game, Big Brother, and upcoming titles based on globally recognised entertainment brands.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a QA Manager to lead quality across our portfolio of live and in-development mobile games, supporting our project leads and ensuring we deliver stable, polished and high-quality player experiences.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced QA Manager to oversee QA across multiple projects, provide leadership to QA project leads, and help shape the quality strategy for the studio.
This role will focus on driving consistent QA standards, improving processes, managing delivery risk, and ensuring quality is considered throughout development rather than only at the final stage.
You will work closely with Production, Engineering, Art, Narrative, external partners and QA teams to support successful releases across live operations and future projects.
This is a management role, but it will also require hands-on QA involvement where needed, especially around mobile testing, release readiness, risk assessment and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
QA Leadership & Oversight
Oversee QA delivery across multiple projects and releases.
Support, guide and develop QA project leads and QA team members.
Ensure consistent testing standards, reporting and release processes across projects.
Drive accountability, ownership and continuous improvement within the QA function.
Support recruitment, onboarding and team development where required.
Quality Strategy & Process
Define and improve QA strategies aligned with studio and project goals.
Establish scalable QA processes for live and in-development mobile games.
Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, efficiency and quality visibility.
Champion quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Support automation, tooling and workflow improvements where appropriate.
Delivery & Risk Management
Work with the QA team and Producers to assess quality risks across releases.
Support QA planning, release readiness and sign-off recommendations.
Balance quality, scope, timelines and commercial priorities.
Escalate risks clearly and provide practical mitigation options.
Ensure stakeholders have clear visibility of QA status and release confidence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Production, Engineering, Art, Narrative and external QA partners.
Ensure QA considerations are included early in planning and development.
Align teams around quality priorities, risks and release expectations.
Build strong relationships across disciplines.
Support external QA providers and outsourcing partners where required.
Hands-On QA Support
Provide hands-on testing support when project needs require it.
Review builds, validate key fixes and support smoke, regression and release testing.
Apply strong mobile QA knowledge across iOS and Android platforms.
Analyse defect trends and help identify recurring quality issues.
Support improvements to Jira workflows, reporting and test documentation.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
Significant QA experience within games development.
Previous experience managing QA teams, QA leads or QA functions.
Strong mobile games QA experience across iOS and Android.
Experience supporting live service products and regular releases.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practice.
Proven ability to manage quality, delivery risk and stakeholder expectations.
Experience creating QA strategies, test plans and release processes.
Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work autonomously and drive improvements across teams.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Desirable
Experience with narrative-driven games.
Experience working with outsourced QA teams or external vendors.
Knowledge of test automation, CI/CD workflows or build pipelines.
Experience using Jira and modern QA tooling.
ISTQB certification or equivalent experience.
Summary
This role is ideal for a QA leader who can combine strategic oversight with practical, hands-on QA experience. The successful candidate will help raise quality standards across the studio, support QA project leads, manage release risk, and ensure our mobile games continue to meet the expectations of our players and partners.
