Position Overview
We are looking for a QA Engineer for the Data and Reports team who is familiar with databases, data lakes, data warehouses and data science / analytics. You will help ensure the reports that customers rely on are accurate and useful. Data is a crucial need for Administrators and Teachers to understand child progression and family involvement in a child's early education and this opportunity allows a data focused and oriented QA Engineer a chance to thrive in a data-driven, user-focused environment.
As a key member of our technology team, you will be a champion for quality and always put the needs of the customer first. Developing automated tests will be how you spend much of your time. You will radiate information about the quality state of the product and continuously find ways to make it better. You'll work closely with developers, business analysts, operations engineers and other QA heroes to deliver meaningful updates every sprint. We need someone who has a knack for breaking stuff, knows a lot about QA and is always ready to learn more.
Specific Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Validates changes to product primarily by developing, executing and maintaining automated tests
  • Performs manual and automated regression testing to help certify releases
  • Finds, isolates, documents, and tracks bugs through resolution
  • Conducts performance testing to ensure system reliability, capacity and scalability
  • Conducts accessibility testing to ensure the system works for everyone
  • Verifies functionality via SQL queries and direct API calls
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on web and/or mobile test automation experience
  • Empathy, patience, rigor, grit and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Highly collaborative work style
  • Creativity and initiative to succeed on ambiguous problems
  • Experience with the following technologies is a plus:
    • Selenium
    • Jmeter / Blazemeter
    • Ruby
    • Postman
    • Data lakes and analytics
    • Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
    • TestRail
    • Jenkins
  • Keen interest in new technologies and languages and how to innovate with them
  • Commitment to following security best practices
