Job Summary
Rivia Mind Psychotherapists provide clinical social work services and psychotherapy to patients through a primarily telehealth environment. Our practice leverages clinical experience and a diverse knowledge base to provide quality care and reliable service. This individual will utilize their expertise in Psychotherapy modalities (i.e. CBT, MI, DBT, etc.) to provide access to reliable, quality care in the communities we serve.
The Psychotherapy Educator provides clinical social work services with robust psychotherapy treatment modalities to patients through a primarily telehealth environment. Our practice leverages psychotherapy as a key component to treatment. This individual will utilize their therapist, educator, and leader expertise to collaborate within a dynamic interdisciplinary team that fosters continued learning and growth. This role will closely partner with clinical leadership and appropriate operational support members to develop internal psychotherapy and social work training and educational support.
The Psychotherapy Educator will maintain an average weekly patient standard of 21 patients. The expectations also include being a Supervisor: leading a supportive and collaborative weekly supervision group of 6-8 psychotherapists to mentor, co-sign when needed, provide training, and monitor performance. All Supervisors also attend twice-monthly meetings to provide feedback on supervisee performance and to receive ongoing supervision and support.
This role will have the opportunity to work closely with clinical leadership in developing training, programs, and resource development. The Psychotherapy Educator will have a Psychotherapy Team Lead as a direct report and assistant for their shared team. Partnership with a supervising Psychiatrist and other clinical disciplines is expected where needed. This role will also involve interviewing Psychotherapy Candidates for open positions and supporting new clinicians to have a successful onboarding with the partnership of other teams.

Job Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibility Composition

- (50%) Direct clinical care to patients with adherence to Rivia Mind’s practice model

- Conduct 1:1 and group meetings with supervisees, attend required meetings and lectures, contribute to new hire onboarding, provide ad-hoc support and performance feedback/coaching to supervisees, and meet with the Clinical Leadership Team
- Talent Support: Psychotherapy Interviewing and Onboarding as needed
- (15%) Education
- Oversee the day-to-day execution of the Psychotherapy Student Program
- Lesson planning, curriculum, training and material development, facilitation, research, exams, module courses, etc.
- Co-management of educational programs
- Provide 1:1, group, and open office meetings to provide clinical supervision opportunities across the practice
- (15%) Leadership, Admin Tasks, and Other Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Provide excellent quality clinical care on a consistent basis that exemplifies Rivia Mind’s culture, values, and guiding principles.
- Manage a patient standard of 21 patients seen per week, with timely submission of thoroughly documented session notes.
- Conduct holistic evaluations and develop curated treatment plans for patients.
- Provide psychotherapy through various modalities (CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, etc.).
- Provide clinical support and counseling to diverse patient populations in a tele-health environment.
- Coach patients on how to manage ongoing health conditions and provide therapy to help patients make positive behavior changes.
- Counsel and provide crisis intervention for patients, including assessment and treatment of emotional and behavioral problems.
- Keep up to date with all administrative and operations responsibilities related to patient care (notes, lost to follow-up tracking, policies regarding appointment cancellations, etc).
- Utilize available data tools and dashboards to monitor productivity, documentation timeliness, and patient engagement expectations.
- Ensure patients are scheduled for consistent follow-up care and respond to trends in appointment frequency and cancellations.
- Participate in data-informed supervision to support ongoing professional development.
- Partner with the Care Team to address emerging concerns, ensure follow-through, and uphold care standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams to promote patient retention, integrative care coordination, and treatment continuity.
- Proactively address scheduling or engagement issues based on dashboard insights and supervisory feedback.
Supervisory
- Lead the team of direct reports (SWs/MHCs) to provide excellent patient care, providing training, mentorship, and constructive feedback as needed and when appropriate, and create a positive work environment for the team.
- Own onboarding and expectation setting for all new hires on your team.
- Spot check notes for clinical quality concerns and adherence to Rivia’s SOP.
- Co-sign notes as needed.
- Be familiar with all policies and procedures related to patient care, and be prepared to review them with the team when appropriate.
- Regularly review clinical and productivity data to guide supervision and identify early performance trends.
- Facilitate regular, data-informed supervision that supports strengths, addresses challenges, and promotes clinician growth.
- Coach team members on interpreting dashboards and applying insights to their clinical work to align with the Rivia Mind care model.
- Monitor and support clinician efforts related to calendar and caseload management.
- Review and ensure adherence to employee policies regarding PTO and calendar management.
- Serve as your team's point of contact with People Ops for matters like leave, bereavement, and performance reviews.
- Ensure effective communication between your team and operations teams to support patient and clinician needs.
- Conduct 60-minute biweekly 1:1 meetings with each therapist on the team to provide performance feedback, mentorship, and support.

- Identify clinicians struggling with cases or adherence to the Rivia Mind clinical playbook and provide coaching and support to ensure the clinician is adherent.
- Assign clinicians for peer supervision with the Team Lead as needed to provide additional support on complex cases and to build clinical skills.
- Meet with the Team Lead to discuss the supervisee’s progress, provide feedback, and determine when additional supervision is no longer necessary.
- Identify cases to escalate to a larger audience based on potential educational value (ex., monthly team meeting for MD review, Rivia Wide meetings).
- Spot check/review at least 1-2 cases per 1:1 meeting per therapist on the team.
- Invite review of any cases that meet the criteria for review set out in the supervision guidelines.
- Collaborate with the clinical care team to review and discuss the team dashboard and clinical data sheet, and use their support to identify and address any barriers or opportunities for improvement in adherence with your team.
- Discuss patient complaints with the goal of improving patient experience.
- Deliver constructive feedback and document performance issues as needed, including verbal warnings and improvement guidance.
- Be a point of escalation for therapist productivity issues identified by Clinical Ops.
- Be responsible for giving verbal warnings and guidance for performance improvement.
- Provide ad-hoc support for therapists on the team via email or brief meetings.
- Conduct research to stay current with health care regulations and best practices.
- Partner with other clinical leaders for Psychotherapy initiatives as needed.
Talent Support
- Assist with psychotherapy candidate interviews under People Operations guidance, alongside the Director of Psychotherapy.
- Share feedback with People Operations on candidate trends, training gaps, and onboarding needs; offer ideas to improve therapist retention and growth.
- Alongside the Director of Psychotherapy, provide orientation support for new therapists with a focus on setting expectations, providing early feedback, and ensuring a smooth integration into the team.
- In partnership with People Operations, curate job descriptions as needed for applicable new or refined roles and participate in the interview, hiring, and onboarding processes.
Education
- Oversee the day-to-day execution of the student social work internship program.
- Attend weekly student group meetings, regularly guiding the discussion.
- Provide support to social work student preceptors.
- Continually look for ways to improve the student curriculum plan - meeting topics, resources, and areas of focus throughout the students’ placement timeframe.;
- Collaborate with the People Operations team for assistance and implementation.
- Provide oversight of preceptors, including onboarding, supervision, skills coaching, and contributing to formal evaluations in collaboration with academic partners where necessary.
- Adhere to any and all student academic requirements (i.e., curriculum plan, completion of evaluations, review process recordings, etc.) and company-specific program processes and format.
- Oversee Psychotherapy training courses for Rivia Mind Clinicians (i.e. the CBT course)
- Contribute to internal clinical education materials (e.g., handbooks, asynchronous training videos, clinical resources) that support therapist growth.
- Assist in training other clinicians to lead or rotate hosting training courses internally.
- Provide mentorship to other clinicians to support their professional growth, skill enhancement, and suggest education endeavors and resources as applicable
- Consult with subject matter experts at Rivia Mind to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum.
- Collect input and engage with other stakeholders to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements.
- Design/Create/Facilitate/Implement engaging and informative educational courses, programs, training plans, assessments, and resource materials.
- As requested, contribute to educating new clinicians or providing additional education and attention to colleagues.
- Utilize our Learning Management System as our source for education and learning.
Leadership
- Ad hoc projects and backup support as assigned by the Director of Psychotherapy
- Meet with Team Lead biweekly and coach/supervise to develop the skills necessary to potentially become a supervisor
- Manage and provide oversight for the Team Lead
- Responsible for addressing patient complaints and escalations with the Team Lead (coaching Team Lead to deliver feedback)
- Meet 1:1 (as needed) with the team Psychiatric Supervisor to escalate when clinicians are not meeting standards, need further support, or have high-risk patients or otherwise complicated patients.

Licensure/Certification Requirements
- Valid state license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or LICSW within NJ, NY, CT, FL, or MA
- Specific Modality certifications may be required
- SIFI Certified required
- Specialty Certifications preferred
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
Education Details: Master's in Social Work, Additional degrees beneficial
- Eight (8)+ years of psychotherapy experience across a wide range of modalities and diverse patient populations and diagnoses
- At least (3) three years of Clinical Education, Psychotherapy Learning, and Program Development experience
- At least (2) two years of Clinical Supervisor experience for 4 or more individuals and mentorship
- Instructional/Curriculum Design, Development and Facilitation
- Training Program Development and Implementation
- Experience with and/or desire to interview and support hiring processes required
- Experience with and/or desire to contribute towards student program development and management required
- Experience with and/or desire to contribute towards psychotherapy training and development required
- Experience utilizing psychotherapy approaches to support a variety of client populations, including individuals, couples, or specialized groups, is required.
- Experience working with Patients in an Outpatient setting
- Confidently and efficiently document concurrently within patient sessions
- Effectively support a remote-first team with active engagement and positive outcomes
- Proficient with utilizing diverse technology platforms and systems (Google Suite, company-wide platforms/software, and EHR platforms when applicable).
- Intermediate computer skills and technical aptitude required

Compensation & Employment Details
Pay Range: $85,000 - $100,000
Our compensation package includes a base salary based on compensable factors. Additionally, clinicians are eligible for quarterly bonuses of up to $1,000 (up to $4,000 annually), awarded based on defined metrics related to clinical excellence and care model performance.

Work Schedule
We collaborate with each provider to determine a mutually beneficial and sustainable schedule. Our focus is to develop a supportive schedule that meets both the needs of our patients and the providers' preferences. Your schedule will be determined with you before starting the role.
- Our operating hours are M-F: 8 am to 8 pm and Saturday: 9 am to 5 pm, but we do allow a schedule to have a start as early as 7 am, and end as late as 9 pm M-F.
- In-office day is based on availability (Currently Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday is available)
- Include at least four(4)+ hours within your schedule, which should be after 5 pm on a weekday or have hours on the weekend.
- On-call is not required, but checking and responding to emails on unscheduled days is required unless on PTO.
- Having a consistent weekly schedule is necessary, but start and end times per day can be different each day of the week, as a set recurring schedule.
We appreciate the dedication and care our providers bring to their work and the patients they serve. Occasional flexibility may be needed to accommodate patient needs or support the growth of your caseload, such as scheduling initial consultations, managing urgent concerns, coordinating care with the broader team, and completing other responsibilities.
