SMX is seeking a Project Manager to be responsible for planning, overseeing and leading projects originating from the DITAC organization from ideation through to completion. This position requires interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders, both civilian and contractor specifically supporting the earthquake recovery efforts onsite. This position requires a high level of written and verbal communication skills, a capacity to manage high stress situations, the ability to multitask and manage various project elements simultaneously, demonstrated leadership skills and big-picture thinking/vision, and a high level of attention to detail.
This position requires a DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one which requires US citizenship for work on a DoD contract.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages and executes multiple projects in line with designated deadlines
- Manages changes to scope, cost and schedule of project work
- Prepares and updates project plans and status reports
- Oversees project documentation and deliverables
- Coordinates cross-functional meetings of personnel related to project
- Allocates appropriate resources to ensure projects are completed within given time and budget
- Establishes communications with customers; Communicates effectively across all levels of management
- Identifies project and material requirements; Coordinates deliveries
- Identifies and coordinates with necessary stakeholders for equipment assembly, installation and checkout
- Reports status, develops project-related documentation, and implements lessons learned
- Participates in project performance review meetings and discussions
- Updates and maintains production and quality metrics for assigned projects
- Participates in planning process
- Manages risk accordingly
- Optimizes and improves processes where necessary
Required Skills & Experience
- Clearance Required: Secret
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret
- Minimum of 3 years of project management experience
- Ability to influence and focus on process improvement
- Strong leadership and relationship management skills
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs and other relevant technology applications
Desired Skills & Experience
- B.A. / B.S. degree (additional experience can be substituted for education)
- PMP certification or DAWIA Level II
- The ideal candidate will be goal oriented and action focused, pragmatic and self-disciplined
- Able to effectively handle multiple and shifting priorities and possess excellent time management skills
