Job Description

The Social Media Manager & Project Associate is responsible for developing content and artwork for the Cancer Networks digital platforms, including all social media accounts and the organizational website. In addition to managing social media accounts, the Associate will provide a variety of support functions for senior staff. The position will focus heavily on the Networks Tobacco-Related Cancer Project, a CDC-funded initiative to address population-specific disparities in tobacco and cancer.The Social Media Manager & Project Associate is responsible for creating messaging that resonates with a variety of audiences, including donors, current and potential funders, LGBTQ+ leaders, community members, providers and public health professionals. The Social Media Manager will work to develop content reflective of the organizations mission and programming.The individual in this role will be responsible for growing the organizations social media reach and adhering to established goals related to audience growth. This position reports to the Projects Director.Tasks Include:Supporting management team -making travel arrangements, purchasing, coordinating staff calendars, communicating with constituents via email and telephone as needed, creating presentation materials, attending Network events as neededCreating social media campaigns that are reflective of organizational priorities and project-specific goals (including support of CDC campaigns, such as TIPS from Former Smokers etc.,)Implementing the social media plan, including adhering to established timelines and goalsMonitoring social media accounts and documenting activities related to interactions and audience reachParticipating in monthly CDC-hosted media meetings and trainings, documenting and sharing pertinent information with Network staffSupporting organizational fundraising goals by spearheading digital fundraising campaigns, such as Giving Tuesday etc.,Providing support for sibling network initiatives, including monthly calls and joint projectsSupporting Membership Coordinator in creating and distributing tailored media materials to Network membersMaintaining updated information on constituents using Airtable software and Constant ContactCommunicating with Network constituents via social media platforms
