Summarized Purpose:
Analyzes emerging technologies to create strategy and business alignment of key technology services within the organization. This position falls under our client technology solutions team in the Clinical Research Group and will provide architecture design expertise to analytical services for our laboratories.
Essential Functions:
Applies expert knowledge to special projects, troubleshoots escalated issues, and makes recommendations for improvements.
Develops strategic roadmaps around core technologies.
Models cost comparison and ROI on technology recommendations for leadership.
Creates process efficiencies across the business and the department.
Executes workloads independently or as a collaborative cross functional effort.
Oversees engineering of innovative technology solutions utilizing emerging technologies.
Produces dashboards and reporting to measure appropriate metrics and provide transparency to leadership.
Serves as technical lead on complex IT projects and initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 15 years).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Analyze emerging technologies to create strategy and business alignment of key technology services within the organization.
Prepare and deliver professional executive presentations to include technical analysis, cost models, and roadmaps for enterprise technologies
Translate business requirements into technical requirements, generating architecture and data flow diagrams
Experience with cloud-native platforms and technologies (AWS, Azure)
Experience in identifying and documenting interdependencies between processes, technologies, applications, and data
Proficiency in modern scripting languages and REST-based web services a plus
Advanced project management and communication skills with ability to act as a senior project manager
Demonstrated presentation and public speaking skills
In-depth knowledge of emerging technologies
Proven ability to engineer new, innovative solutions based on business initiatives and requirements
Proven ability to act as a technical lead and resource to all levels of engineers
