We’re looking for a mission-aligned hands-on software engineering leader who can take our execution to the next level. This team player will report to our Senior Director of Software Engineering and work across multiple functional teams, including Design, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Construction, and Systems, to design and implement component cost targets, manufacturing drawings, specifications, instructions, maintenance, and production processes across all phases of project development.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about challenging the status quo in order to better the housing experience. This person can analyze the associated trade-offs of various implementation strategies, communicate new concepts and approaches to internal and external partners to help translate these solutions into actionable business operations.

Juno as a company has embraced a fully remote approach to work, with teammates based in cities across the US, with regular opportunities to get together in person.

Areas of focus:

  • Lead the architecture and technical implementation of the Juno construction platform that spans design, supply chain, construction, systems, and building operations teams to ensure one-time, on-time delivery, and safe installation
  • Be hands-on in the design, development, testing, and deployment of full-stack web and mobile product features and DevOps for internal and external partners
  • Make code contributions and mentor other software engineers in standards and patterns
  • Work closely with Design, Construction, and Supply Chain teams to effectively manage expectations and ensure continuous improvement of the software and working relationships
  • Translate project requirements into technical specifications and tasks
  • Take responsibility for the development of designs and products that are usable, on schedule, and within budget
  • Ensure the code is of high quality, secure, performant, and maintainableLead design, test, and deployment reviews and recommend changes that simplify and optimize efficiencies
  • Monitor production operations and perform root cause analysis to ensure a high level of service
  • Develop and oversee component technical documentation and implementation planning
  • Identify the need for and lead the technical evaluation of platforms, frameworks, tools, designs, performance analysis, and vendor selection

What we’re looking for in a teammate:

  • 7+ years of experience in software product and application development is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Extensive experience in cloud-based software development, including serverless and microservices on AWS, GCP, or Azur
  • Experience in programming languages such as Python and JavaScript and respective frameworks such as Django and React / Vue
  • Experience with Frontend technologies, including HTML and CSS, is required
  • Experience with RDBMS, including PostgreSQL or MySQL, is required
  • Experience with Data Warehousing including Snowflake, BigQuery, or RedshiftExperience with NoSql technologies such as MongoDB or CassandraExperience with ETL and Elasticsearch
  • Experience with Message Brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka
  • Experience with mobile development such as Swift and Kotlin
  • Experience with CICD, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Experience with modern version control tools such as GitHub, GitLab, or BitBucketExperience with Agile practices and Test/Behavior Driven Development
  • Familiarity with tools such as JetBrains IDEs, Jenkins, Jira or ClickUp, Slack, LucidCharts, and Notion
  • You are detail-oriented, extremely organized, and capable of dealing with ambiguity
  • You can translate goals into actionable plans
