Job Description

OVERVIEWHarris Corporate has an exciting opportunity to be a member of the Payroll team as a US Payroll Administrator. As the US Payroll Administrator, you will administer day to day payroll operations, prepare and review regulatory reporting, assess and establish internal controls, evaluate current payroll operations, offer recommendations for process improvement, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.You will report to the Manager of US Payroll and work with a team of 4-5 Payroll specialists. Together, you will ensure the payroll team's successfully manages all of the responsibilities of the US Payroll department. This opportunity is open to anyone based out of the Niagara Falls, NY, Milwaukee, WI, or our corporate head off in Ottawa, Ontario,WHAT WILL YOUR NEW ROLE BE Prepare and process an accurate semi-monthly payroll for 500+ employees in multiple US states.Responsible for all aspects of payroll including General Ledger (GL)reporting, W4 changes, direct deposits, non-exempt wage calculations, voluntary and non-voluntary deductions, garnishments, leaves of absences, and termination payments.Work closely with the HR team regarding payroll related items including, benefit deductions, leave of absences and disability, onboarding of new employees, termination of existing employees, documentation retention, etc.Process/monitor tax payments and ensure related forms and reports are in compliance with IRS regulations.Perform payroll audits as needed to ensure accuracy.Responds to/resolves payroll questions and discrepancies and delivers quality customer serviceReconcile and assist with journal entries for payroll related GLaccounts and all other accounting items related to payrollAssist in development of overall payroll procedures by recommending improvements or changes when deemed necessary for greater efficiencyMust be able to work effectively with finance teamon financialtasks such as reconciliation of bank statements and general ledger inquiries.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR5+ years of recent hands on payroll processing experience. Strong comfort with large payroll processing (e.g., Ceridian, ADP, Paychex, etc.) and accounting systems (e.g., Great Plains).Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills.High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
