Job Description

Shift Days: Monday- Friday, Shift Hours : Flex shift 6:00AM-9:00AM start time working 8 hours

The Patient Financial Advocate will be responsible for inbound and outbound phone escalated phone calls engaging in scripted conversation with patients to resolve any billing concerns. This role is empowered to use analytical skills to determine patient eligibility for additional resources to settle financial obligations.

Responsibilities:

* Makes and receives inbound/outbound phone calls to resolve patient billing concerns and initiate arrangements for patients to pay their portion of the account.
* Respond to patient billing inquiries.
* Negotiate payments and payment plans with patients.
* Submit credit card payments.
* Work complex billing issues for resolution.
* Meets or exceeds daily production requirements.
* Adhere to all applicable disclosure and collections rules and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or GED required
* Working college credentials.
* 2 years of prior healthcare or collections experience.
* Working knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to the collection of accounts.
* Excellent follow through abilities to meet daily productivity targets.
* Excellent customer service skills exhibiting good oral and written communication skills.
* Moderate computer skills (internet, email, MS Office) obtained from prior work experience.

Desired Qualifications:

* 4-year college degree.

Physical Requirements:

* See, read, and/or operate computers, telephones, office equipment, documents, labels, including manipulating paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
* Remain sitting, standing, or walking for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
* Frequent interactions with associates, patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require associate to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
* Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information banding patients, etc.
* Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items (over 50 lbs.).
