We are seeking a Data Protection Paralegal to join the company's Ethics & Compliance team. This individual will work remotely in the United States.

The Data Protection Paralegal will serve a key role in the molding and dissemination of Rimini Street's data protection message throughout the global enterprise and provide resources to personnel working with clients in the field. This role is an excellent opportunity to develop expertise privacy and security law.
The Data Protection Paralegal will have primary responsibility for continuous monitoring of new and changing global privacy and security laws that are relevant to Rimini Street's unique solutions and its global client base. The Data Protection Paralegal will draw from research and subject matter experts to maintain and improve a database of communications regarding privacy and security compliance relating to Rimini Street's unique services. This position will also share knowledge that will guide the development of strategies for compliance with respect to the delivery of services and will work cross-functionally to make the knowledge base and derived content widely available.
The Data Protection Paralegal will report to the Director and Managing Counsel, Privacy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor and review developments in privacy and security law, regulation, guidance, and best practices.
Draft, review, publish and update articles and standard messaging regarding relevant laws for several audiences.
Work cross-functionally with the RFP team, sales representatives, engineers, legal, security, and other stakeholders to verify and distribute information and identify new content of interest.
Analyze legal precedent and guidance and best practices and create actionable guidance.
Use business acumen and contractual expertise to guide business sponsors on important considerations and decisions relating to the business and legal requirements of the contract
Provide other services and advice to the company as needed
Certification or associate's degree in paralegal studies (bachelor's degree is preferred) or law degree
Required Experience, Skills and Attributes
A minimum experience of two years in a paralegal or attorney role at a law firm or in-house with a focus on privacy and/or security issues.
Investigative mind and penchant and enjoyment for research and writing
Legal analysis (ability to analyze laws, regulations, decrees, orders, case laws, and legal frameworks and distinguish between binding authority and non-binding opinion)
Interest in privacy and product advocacy
Working knowledge and aptitude for using software to maintain a database of templates or standard responses to questions.
Excellent written and verbal communication and time management skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong motivation to learn, serve and educate
Strong sense of ethics
Ability to manage multiple priorities with a "can do" attitude and collegial, collaborative tone
Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Excellent judgment and sound decision-making

Experience handling privacy, security and professional technology issues preferred
Occasional domestic and international travel may be required
