Job Description

Now Hiring dedicated and committed Technical Support Candidates who are looking to join a top fortune 500 company in assisting customers with software/hardware technical support! This position is a contract role and is fully remote! Must have own windows supported computer.

Pay: 17/hr for NON-BILINGUAL // 17.50/hr for BILINGUAL

Shift: Mon-Sun (5 days a week for a set 8 hour shift between) 8am-11pm EASTERN STANDARD TIME!

Description:

This is a remote customer support position supporting Software during the tax season. They will help troubleshoot, install and provide customer service to clients of remotely from home. First part of the season is making calls to customers that are new to the company.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITY

• Troubleshoot software running on Windows, Vista and 7 Operating Systems

• Troubleshoot sharing and permissions errors on home and office networks

• Remote into machines and manipulate machines

• Install tax software

• Assist customers with technical software questions and errors

• Document all customer contact accurately and efficiently within specified guidelines

• Present a calm and professional attitude in high pressure situations

• Provide superior service to all customers

• Strive to consistently meet and exceed department goals

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

1 year technical support or help desk experience. Open to entry level candidates but must be VERY tech savvy (ie a gamer that pulls computers apart and reassembles). Ideal Candidate comes from a tax preparation industry. Strong technical aptitude and customer service skills. Above average knowledge of Microsoft operating systems. Ability to function well as a member of a technically savvy team. Bilingual Associates must be able to speak and write clearly in both English and Spanish

TECHNICAL ABILITY

•Should be familiar with current Windows operating systems such as Vista, 7, 8, and 10.

•Possesses fundamental knowledge of Windows Explorer – folder structure, hidden files, file extensions, cut and paste, drag and drop, and saving and retrieving files.

•Has experience with anti-spyware, anti-virus programs, and the Microsoft Office suite.

•May have experience in networking – navigating a network, file sharing, and security, drive mapping, routers, and firewalls.

•Should have experience with printers such as setting a printer as default and printing a test page

•Should have a working knowledge of Internet applications such as email, including attachments, web browsers, search engines, and various chat programs.

•Ideal candidate will own a smart phone and be familiar with how to use common features such as how to install apps, check email, and how to send/receive SMS messages.

•Has basic hardware/software knowledge – Able to connect a monitor, keyboard, and mouse to a PC, knows what RAM is and what a hard drive is. Is familiar enough with installing and uninstalling programs to guide others in doing so too.

•Familiar with editing the registry and using the command prompt

•Has built and maintained their own computer and/or helped to maintain computers professionally or for friends and family.
