Our MySQL or MariaDB Practice is adding to our remote team! XTIVIA is looking to add a dynamic MySQL or MariaDB DBA who excels in great customer service with a strong technical knowledge to help our customers get the best out of their database environments. An individual who is motivated to find the root cause and who likes to take on an unknown issue as a challenge and as a chance to expand their knowledge. The ideal candidate would like to work problems on their own, knowing they have a team of experienced DBAs to rely on if needed. The right individual will most likely enjoy problem solving, working in a fast-paced environment, thinking on their feet and interacting with many different personalities. MySQLMariaDB DBA must be able to perform consulting assignments, assessments, upgrades, migrations, support managed service clients and perform troubleshooting for multiple clients. Part of duties include participation in an on call support rotation. Some occasional off hours work is required as needed by clients. Responsibilities include daily multi-tasking among multiple clients. Some travel (when safe after COVID) may be needed (15). This individual would be responsible for providing production support for multiple end clients and ad-hoc work as needed. Opportunity is remote - though you must still reside within the USA. Candidates must be able to pass a 10-year background check. This is a full time salaried position. Please note Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen The ideal candidate would possess this required experience DBA Experienced with Min 4 years work experience with production support and maintenance as a MySQL or MariaDB DBA version 5.1 - 8.0 (5.1 - 10.5) MySQL backup and recovery MySQL configuration, load balancing, failover and caching technologies MySQL replication and clustering technologies MySQL server monitoring MySQL performance troubleshooting and optimization MySQL monitoring requirements MySQL migrations MySQL upgrades MySQL disaster recovery Maintained and supported customer databases in a 7 x 24 production environment Excellent and proven interpersonal and communication skills, problem solving skills, technical analysis expertise Ability to work in a fast paced environment Advanced time management and organizational skills Ability to manage clients and their needs Technical sales skills Proficient at cron file management. Ability to work between multiple clients and environments daily MySQL 5.7 Certification or ability to attain one shortly after starting Advanced Windows and Linux Troubleshooting skills Ability to read and understand LinuxUnix scripts, powershell scripts, and bat files.
