This position is responsible for managing mortgage sales production within an assigned market. The Market Mortgage Sales Manager is responsible for preparing reports for management, projections on upcoming production, and recruiting/developing a team of Mortgage Loan Officers (MLOs). This position will establish and achieve sales and budget goals by developing a plan for sales management and mortgage loan origination resulting in increased production and profitability while controlling expenses.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruit, develop, and retain outside Mortgage Loan Officers (MLOs) to achieve sales origination goals within an assigned market. Directly manage the daily activities of employees, appraising employee productivity and performance. Compose and deliver performance evaluations.

Monitor staff attendance, work standards, and adherence to company policies and compliance requirements. Proactively deliver feedback to direct reports to promote staff development and manage performance as needed.

Create productivity goals for MLOs and hold them accountable for maintaining minimums.

Leverage industry awareness, knowledge of regulatory expectations and legal expertise to gather and provide intelligence for product, trends, process, and industry technology. Make recommendations to management for assigned market.

Represent the company in local business line leadership events, speaking engagements, planning meetings and development networks.

Review, control and report on profit and loss activity.

Independently originate residential mortgage loans by taking applications, conduct preliminary underwriting reviews and then submit loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval. Make recommendations regarding the loan products that best meet the borrowers needs.

Develop and deliver effective training strategies and materials to MLOs as needed.

Conduct sales calls to create, develop and maintain referral relationships with real estate professionals, builders, and consumers.

Maintain a positive, ethical working environment resulting in low turnover and high employee retention rates.

Serve as primary liaison for partnership between sales and operations. Responsible for managing escalated situations surrounding conflicts or service concerns that may develop between underwriting/processing team and the MLO.

Collaborate with the Commercial Lending Division and Private Client Group. May partner with relationship managers in these areas to handle specific transactions for clients, enhancing quality of service to existing clients and coordinating service delivery with other parts of the bank to assure timely and accurate execution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, bachelors degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years in the financial services industry

Managerial experience with proven success meeting and exceeding goals required.

This position requires the individual to take loan applications and close loans.

This position may require the employee to register and maintain registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS).

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated customer service aptitude

Exceptional presentation skills with ability to speak clearly and effectively to small/large audiences.

Attention to detail and PC skills required (Outlook, Excel, Word, and LOS systems). Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications/products including Teams, OneDrive, and Power BI a plus.

This position requires regular travel by car to various locations throughout assigned market.

Typical scheduled is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Some weekends, and evenings may be required.
