Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe Mortgage Loan Originator is responsible for following up on leads provided from multiple marketing sources, as well as self-generated referral leads. Solicit, originate, and facilitate the processing and closing of loan products and financing of residential real estate transactions within assigned channel(s). Work under immediate supervision and report to Manager, AVP, or VP.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS• Communicate effectively and professionally with consumers primarily through telephone conversations and email correspondence• Discuss and understand customers' needs and provide recommendations on appropriate loan products, etc.• Review active loan files daily and work with other teams and departments to ensure loans are processed and closed in a timely manner• Understand and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and company policies• Originate Conventional loans• Know and understand FHA and VA underwriting guidelines for the purpose of originating loans• Maintain high quality standards while meeting or exceeding the Company's daily production goals• Perform other duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills• Ability to build relationships with clients• Self-motivated and client-focused• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment• Solid knowledge of computer systems including MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field • 2+ years of mortgage sales experience• Current NMLS license number (or ability to acquire within 60 days)• Ability to meet applicable qualifications and standards required for MLO Licensure under the SAFE Act • Strong understanding of financial calculations and the ability to communicate current rate/pricing with customers• Knowledge of credit and mortgage loan underwriting practices, agency/investor eligibilityrequirements, and state/federal regulatory compliancePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS• Multiple state NMLS licensing• Experience with Velocify and Encompass 360 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe following physical requirements must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
