The Regulatory (Compensation) Compliance Specialist position drafts mortgage loan originator compensation (LO Comp) plans for branches and ensures compensation plans are consistent with state and federal regulations and internal policies and procedures. (NOTE: Previous legal or compliance experience is preferred, but not required. Previous mortgage and compensation experience also not required. This role is open to 100% remote to candidates anywhere in the U.S. who are able to work Mon - Fri, 8:30am - 5pm CST. Strong and reliable internet connection required. For more information on our covid-19 safety protocols, please inquire with our recruiter.)Essential Job FunctionsWorks with managers to compile information for compensation plans and answer any questionsReviews compensation information to ensure compliance with Regulation Z, other state and federal regulations, and internal policies and proceduresRequests and reviews appropriate documentation for compensation plan and payment requestsDrafts loan originator compensation plans Audits payroll records to ensure employees were paid according to their compensation plans (i.e., under or overpayments) and applicable minimum wage laws and also ensures employees logged hours pursuant to their employment status (i.e., part- or full-time), working with HR as necessary to switch employees status.Alerts payroll of incentive or bonus compensation (e.g., signing bonus, production bonus, discretionary bonus, incentive, etc.)Non-Essential Job FunctionsParticipates in and leads proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goalsAdopts Fairways Core Values in personal work behaviors, decision making, contributions, and interpersonal interactionsContributes to a positive work environment by demonstrating Fairways Core Values and influencing others to reward performance and value "can do" people, accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity, and funPerforms other duties as assignedRequired Knowledge and SkillsBasic knowledge and understanding of current business acumenSolid knowledge and understanding of customer service best practicesRequired Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalency degree 1+ years of experience working in the legal field preferred but not requiredDemonstrated experience with attention to detail, strict deadlines, written and oral communication, organization, multi-tasking, and working in a team atmosphere Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced and changing environmentDemonstrated experience with Microsoft Office software products If the above describes you and youre interested in becoming a part of the Fairway team, please Apply Now to complete our application process.
