Medical Billing and Collections Specialist - Remote in UTAH 23.50/Hr

Metabolic Research Institute, Inc. (“MRI”) is a leading biotechnology company specializing in metabolic disorders and innovative treatment solutions. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Billing and Collections Specialist to join our remote team in Utah. This is a full-time position offering a competitive hourly rate of $23.50.

As a Medical Billing and Collections Specialist at MRI, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of medical claims and collections. You will be responsible for managing and resolving billing discrepancies, communicating with insurance providers and patients, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies
• Review and follow up on unpaid or denied claims
• Resolve billing discrepancies and ensure accurate reimbursement
• Communicate with insurance providers, patients, and healthcare professionals to obtain necessary information
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient financial records
• Follow industry guidelines and regulations for billing and collections
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients and internal stakeholders

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing and collections
• Proficiency in medical billing software and knowledge of medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
• Strong understanding of insurance policies and claim submission procedures
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• High school diploma or equivalent, certification in medical billing preferred
