Job Description

Opportunity Our client, a leader in automotive component testing and certification, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their Taylor, MI team. Working with proprietary test technology and the Operations team, the Mechanical Engineer will develop common operations tasks and improve test procedures. The Mechanical Engineer will also help to diagnose and resolve problems with test equipment. Responsibilities Work with customers to define test requirements and develop test plans Lead test planning, execution, data quality checking and data delivery Work with technicians to conduct tests and maintain test cell operations Perform data analysis and interpret results to help guide experiments Diagnose and resolve engine and test cell equipment problems in a timely manner Configure the test cell automation system for testing, including channel set-up, calibration, programming of test sequences, and set-up of measurement instruments Coordinate with Operations to ensure combustion air, engine cooling, fueling, electrical, and emissions sampling subsystems are set-up properly Quality check all test cell configurations, programming, and test data Qualifications Bachelorrsquos degree in Mechanical Engineering Up to 3 years of experience in engineering assignments with increasing levels of responsibility and complexity Understanding of quality assurance processes (requirements analysis, root cause analysis, structured testing, test planning and execution, test documentation, troubleshooting, defect tracking, etc.) Willing and able to work in a noisy, hot lab environment Knowledge of relevant ISO, SAE, US EPA, BAR, UL, or ETL requirements is a plus Benefits Pay of 60K to 65K annually (30 to 33 per hour while on contract) Full suite of Medical benefits offered (medical, dental, vision, etc.) Contract opportunity (paid overtime) with potential for direct hire Apply If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, please send us your resume today!
