Job Description

Position Summary

The Manager, Solution Architecture, reporting to the Vice President for Solutions and Services, is accountable for PDGs capabilities in delivering learning solutions to our clients. Learning solutions and services incorporates PDGs curriculum and instructional design, partnering with our media design, marketing, and sales solutioning teams. The Manager for Solution Architecture will lead and motivate designers on large, cross-functional project teams, managing inter-personal communication, team dynamics, creativity, collaboration, and coordination of efforts in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This is a W2, full-time employee role, with benefits and 401k. Remote with some travel to corporate office and/or client location as needed.

Responsibilities

The Manager, Solution Architecture, is accountable for:
  • People Development: leading our team of learning design and development professionals
    • Hiring high quality, high fit, team members
    • Building career development paths and individual development plans
    • Coaching and mentoring the learning team
    • Driving our internal learning curriculum
  • Thought Leadership and Creative Solutioning:
    • Leading PDG's thinking on creative learning solutioning
    • Thought leadership and creative vision aligning design solutions to meet business needs
  • Learning Solution Development:
    • Setting the priorities and roadmaps for PDG's learning solution development
    • Researching, sharing, and adopting best practices in line with latest instructional delivery trends
  • Standards, Methods, and Quality Processes:
    • Setting standards for the learning solutions teams' delivery methods
    • Continuously improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our services
    • Ensuring quality is embedded throughout PDG
  • Client and Market Presence:
    • Representing PDG's learning solutions capability with clients and in the market
    • Understanding client and market perspectives and feeding them into solution development priorities
  • Business Development:
    • Understand pricing and cost dynamics, building appropriate work estimation models to support business development teams
    • Assist in scoping, planning, and estimating client projects
  • Resource Management:
    • Ensuring PDG has the right capabilities available to our client services teams
    • Managing resourcing and demand planning, enabling a robust pipeline of contract resources to scale to project demands in a timely and efficient manner

Requirements

General Requirements
  • Learning Experience
    • Deep knowledge of instructional design including needs assessment, participant and program evaluation, curriculum design and development
    • Ability to create high impact instructional materials, technical and non-technical reports, presentations, and sales support materials
    • Experience with design and development of E-learning, ILT, social learning, micro learning, performance support, and other innovative learning strategies
  • Innovation
    • Experience leveraging non-linear learning development methodologies
    • Experience leveraging emerging technology
    • Actively keeps an eye on future trends and has published on innovation
    • An early-adopter (personally and professionally)
    • Engages and drives employees to accept and embrace new learning methods and technologies

Education and Professional Experience

The Manager, Solution Architecture, has:
  • Graduate degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Sciences, Organizational Psychology, Leadership, or a related field
  • Minimum six years of experience developing custom training solutions
  • Ability to travel
