A DAY IN THE LIFE

Provides leadership, technical oversight, and resource management for the SCADA Commissioning function across utility-scale solar projects. Leads SCADA Commissioning Technicians and ensures successful deployment, integration, and commissioning of SCADA systems in alignment with project schedules, design intent, and contractual requirements. Serves as the primary liaison between Engineering, Commissioning, Procurement, and third-party vendors to ensure technical alignment, quality execution, and continuous improvement across all SCADA commissioning activities. Partners closely with the Senior Manager – Commissioning, Performance Engineers, Project Engineering, Construction teams, and external stakeholders to support safe operations, reliable plant performance, and accurate data acquisition throughout commissioning and performance testing.

STEP INTO THE ROLE

  • Leads, mentors, and manages SCADA Commissioning Technicians, providing technical direction, performance feedback, and professional development. 
  • Coordinates technician schedules, site travel, and task assignments to ensure effective resource utilization across multiple projects. 
  • Facilitates team discussions and lessons learned sessions to capture improvements and standardize best practices across projects. 
  • Serves as the primary point of contact between the Commissioning team and Engineering groups. 
  • Ensures timely feedback loops with internal and external Engineers of Record (EOR) to resolve design discrepancies and align design standards and expectations. 
  • Leads internal reviews of EOR SCADA design packages, including communication architectures, points lists, BOMs, and control diagrams, ensuring alignment with field conditions and commissioning requirements. 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline required. Equivalent combinations of education and applicable experience may be considered.
  • 5 or more years of experience in SCADA systems design, commissioning, trouble shooting, or performance support within utility-scale renewable energy or power generation projects.
  • 3 or more years of experience leading or mentoring technical teams required.
  • Travel to project sites as required (up to approximately 50%).

$110,617.00 - $160,396.00 Individual Compensation to be determined based on the applicant's applicable experience and qualifications balanced against internal equity.
