Join the team as Twilio’s next Senior Manager, Global Health & Safety is responsible for leading and implementing global health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all employees across multiple locations and industries.
About the job
This position is needed to ensure Twilio is operating in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations with support from Regional Security Managers, cross functional business partners, and 3rd party service providers. This team is evolving to meet the needs of an open work environment which creates unique challenges. We are looking for an experienced, critically-thinking, and strategic leader to optimize our resources and develop strategies to strengthen our existing foundation to support the needs of a multinational business. This means bringing in broad knowledge of health & safety programs to strategically lead, operationalize, and optimize our state of readiness. This role will report directly to the Senior Director of Corporate Safety & Security.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
- Develop and Implement Governance and Programs: This includes creating policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
- Assess Risk: Assessing potential environmental risks and providing mitigation plans to reduce incidents
- Conduct Risk Assessment and Implement Mitigation: Identifying potential hazards and risks, and developing and implementing strategies to mitigate them.
- Incident Investigation: Investigating incidents and accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct Audits and Inspections: Coordination and oversight of internal and external health and safety audits and inspections to identify compliance gaps, areas of improvement, and corrective action plans.
- Partner Broadly: Working with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that health and safety is a priority.
- Develop Training & Awareness: Identify and create compelling, consumable, and targeted content that can be leveraged to increase employee’s health and safety literacy and maturity. This will require the creation of content - from concept to writing, editing, uploading, and publishing across multiple channels.
- Measure Program Effectiveness: Develop meaningful metrics and KPIs that drive ability to create safety awareness baselines, identify high-risk populations for further training, measure the effectiveness of engagement campaigns and training content, and provide reporting for executive management and security audits
- Manage Contracts & Cost: Ensuring that contractor personnel working on the property are in compliance with local policies and safety requirements. Oversee budget development, management, and reporting and drive cost and operational efficiency through the program as it scales, while continuously innovating
- Stay Current: Staying up-to-date with relevant health and safety regulations and ensuring that the organization is in compliance.

Required:
- 7+ years in global Occupational Health & Safety, Workplace, Security, or Risk management
- Associate Certified Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification
- Comprehensive knowledge of employer-focused health and safety laws and regulations and best practices
- Experience establishing safety programs in a remote working environment
- Experience working within the tech industry
- Previous experience in developing and delivering safety training and awareness
- Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working independently and as part of a team. Will take the initiative to drive deliverables forward even under ambiguous circumstances
- Passion for building and maintaining a safe and secure work environment and ability to balance multiple global programs with limited oversight
- Proficiency in Google GSuite, presentation development and metrics reporting development
Desired:
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related
Location
This role will be remote, but is not eligible to be hired in CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, WA.
Travel
We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, approximately 15% travel is anticipated to help you participate in project or team in-person meetings to help you connect in a meaningful way.

Compensation
*Please note this role is open to candidates outside of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington D.C., and Washington State. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.
The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:
- Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C. : $104,300 - $130,300.
- Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $110,400 - $137,900.
- Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $122,600 - $153,200.
- This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are generally eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
