We aim to attract diverse candidate pools who hold these same values, and are ready to help us along our journey toward greater equity and inclusion.For more information about who we are, please review our Core Values and Careers Page.The Manager of Development Operations (MDO) will manage and oversee the operations of Bottom Lines multi-site Development teams.This work ensures that Bottom Line is able to raise the funding necessary to support our programs effectively and efficiently and ensures alignment between development and finance functions.The primary responsibility of the MDO is to create and find efficiencies in the systems and processes that support our fundraising activities.The MDO sits on our National Team and ensures coordinated efforts across sites and with National teams.The responsibilities of this role span many aspects of strong development operations - from the management of on-line transactions to the strategic organization of contacts into donor segments to the reporting of progress to senior leaders of the organization.A successful Manager of Development Operations will be considered a member of each regional development team though they sit on the National Team.The best candidate will be a highly organized systems-thinker, an effective communicator and askilled relationship builder.The MDO must understand the mechanics of Development and Development Strategy to be able to match systems and tools to the needs of ourfront-line Development teams.The MDO must have the ability to create and manage processes as well as the skill to train others on using systems and processes effectively.The Manager of Development Operations will sit on the Operations teams (Finance and Human Resources) and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer

Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:Strategy 35%Build & maintain a cohesive set of systems, processes & approaches for coordinated management of Development functions of Bottom LineEvaluate and improve donations tracking and pipeline management processesCodify a portfolio management system that can be used in all sites to strengthen the planning & execution of donor relationshipsMaintain a campaign management system using our Salesforce platformWork with the Finance Team to improve our in-year and long-term forecasting processesData Management and Reporting 25%Produce monthly reports for the Chief Operating Officer, Executive Directors, Heads of Development, and other senior leaders as necessary that allow them to understand & track our progress to goal across various metricsBuild and continuously improve dashboards and reports that help senior leaders manage progressOversee overall data integrity, ensuring proper data collection from portfolio managersServe as the primary liaison to the Finance team for all revenue (or donation) review and closing processesSystems and Resources Management 20%Manage user accounts and permission for all Development tools and systemsMaintain and improve Salesforce platform to match the Development strategy of the organization and each regionManage on-line donation collection, through our primary vendor as well as third-party sitesManage vendor relationships, including recommendation of approval for any new vendor to the Chief of Growth Strategy and Development, to ensure best integration with current systems and processesManage suite of tools maintained for front-line fundraisers, such as Prospect Research tool & shared memberships (e.g. Foundation Directory, Chronicle of Philanthropy)Regional Operations and Support Services 10%Build and maintain strong relationships with Regional teams and team members to understand their needs, challenges and assets and incorporate insights and learnings into the org-wide strategyEnsure that each Development team member is able to effectively use our tools to meet and/or exceed their goalsProvide reports that support local efforts, such as donor lists to be used in campaigns throughout the yearTraining and Communications 5%In partnership with other team members, develop and implement a training calendar that ensures that all Development and Finance team members understand and can effectively use our systems & follow our established processes & protocolsWorking with the Human Resources team, ensure that each new Development team member is on-boarded to how our systems and processes workProvide regular communications about systems and process updatesSupport Finance Team with Salesforce by assisting with the integration of systems and matching revenue transactionsTeamSupport 5%Contribute to the overall goals of the Operations team by working collaboratively with colleagues on the creation and execution of the annual fundraising planAdvance Bottom Lines mission and brandMaintain a students first perspective, actively building connections with colleagues across functions to build understanding of each others work, and more importantly, serve as the best possible advocate for our students and missionWork collaboratively with others on the National Team and with regional teams on shared projects, committees, and other opportunitiesDuties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without advanced notice.

Qualifications:
