The Manager, Content Enrichment will oversee our UK team in delivering content enrichment and curation services related to video content for our client. This role will effectively lead their team in curating, analyzing, researching, reviewing, and building stories with online video content through leadership, clear communication, decision-making, and adaptability.
The Manager will participate in collaborative problem-solving, with the ability to find innovative solutions through conversation and exchange of ideas with the 1021 Creative team. A strong ability to foster open and timely communication across multiple time zones and cultures in a remote environment is essential in this role.
The Manager, in collaboration with the Director, Content Enrichment - EMEA, acts as one of the main points of contact for requests from our clients. This role will participate in the creation and maintenance of guidelines for projects and ensuring those guidelines are being followed. The Manager will work to support the team’s growth, success, and goals in their current roles, as well as guide team members through any challenges they may face.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of content enrichment specialists
- In conjunction with the Project Manager, apply project management skills to monitor workflows, processes, and timelines for new and existing projects, and assign tasks to team members
- Clearly define and communicate deliverables and timelines to team, and track all internal and client facing research and reports
- Participate in client contract renewal discussions as well as scoping and bandwidth conversations for new projects/ contracts as needed
- Manage schedules for team members including coverage for holidays, vacation, sick time, etc. as well as hourly allotments per week
- Ensure team members are properly tracking time spent on client and 1021 related work through the 1021 provided time tracking tool
- Train the team on 1021 and client-provided content enrichment and curation guidelines, including video review, editorial standards, and effective use of client software and content review tools
- Create processes for maintaining, updating and receiving client approval on guidelines for video content review
- Review client-facing deliverables to ensure team understands content enrichment, curation and applicable editorial goals, and support team by making improvements in those processes as needed
- Self-assign a minimum of one content review shift per month
- Participate in developing feedback for larger regional team on specific regional trends
- Conduct weekly team meetings, weekly one-on-one meetings with individual team members, and regularly scheduled touch bases with the client
- Work with team to ensure compliance with client and 1021 Creative policies, including confidentiality and employee conduct
- Facilitate individual employee growth through annual performance reviews, advocating for raises and bonuses where appropriate, and maintaining documentation in partnership with HR
- Partner with recruitment and HR as a hiring manager to assess hiring needs, screen and interview candidates, make key hiring decisions and recommendations, and onboard new team members
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of people management experience, preferably in a remote environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in relevant job or industry
- Deep familiarity with the cultural and political climates in the United Kingdom
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working remotely and within multicultural teams
- Experience with content moderation, content review, curation, or similar roles
- Knowledge of content review guidelines and best practices
- Experience with copywriting and proofreading, preferably with a focus on entertainment content
- Experience working with data and statistical analysis
- Comfortable working with Google Suite, with spreadsheets and other data management tools
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in guidelines, workflows, and tools
- Strong understanding of digital streaming products, particularly video and its ecosystem
- The ability to review information with an analytical and objective mindset in a fast paced environment
- A keen interest in/knowledge of pop culture, social media trends and creators, and trending video content
- Familiar with popular social media platforms
