Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Legal Intake Specialist to handle the initial client intake process for a law firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering essential case details, pre-screening potential clients, and ensuring accurate data entry into the firm's system. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of legal procedures, and the ability to handle sensitive client information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for potential clients via phone, email, and chat.
- Conduct initial client screenings by gathering relevant case details.
- Accurately enter client information into the case management system.
- Assess case viability based on established firm criteria and provide recommendations.
- Schedule consultations and follow up with prospective clients.
- Provide basic information about legal services and address client inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies and confidentiality regulations.
- Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to streamline the intake process.
- Maintain organized records of client interactions and follow-up activities.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in a legal intake, customer service, or administrative role within a law firm or related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience handling confidential information with professionalism.
- Familiarity with case management software (Clio, MyCase, or similar is a plus).
- Ability to assess client needs and determine case eligibility.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in personal injury, family law, criminal defense, or immigration law intake.
- Background in customer service or sales is an advantage.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures.
