Job Description Summary:

The Legal and Licensing Specialist is responsible for completing provider enrollment applications for Medicare and Medicaid, maintaining and updating Medicare and Medicaid provider numbers and all licensing activities for all locations. Also responsible for updating insurance policy information.

Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)

  • Assists branch offices with all tasks related to Provider Enrollment and Licensing activities.
  • Responsible for completing provider enrollment and licensing applications and all activities surrounding those functions for new, renewal and update scenarios.
  • Responsible for notifying Medicare and Medicaid of de-activation of provider numbers.
  • Responsible for notifying states of de-activation or changes related to licenses.
  • Participates in project progress calls, presenting progress success/failure information with plans of action.
  • Responsible for assisting in the creating and evaluating of documentation and training materials.
  • Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of patient and proprietary information. Complies with legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and proprietary Option Care information.
  • Assists branch offices with all tasks related to Provider Enrollment and Licensing activities.

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • at least two (2) years of experience in the healthcare industry.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience working with Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Experience in identifying issues and recommending/implementing ways to resolve issues and problems.
  • Experience communicating both verbally (on phone, one-on-one, to groups) and in writing (emails, letters, reports, presentations) to various audiences (work group, team, company management, prospective acquisitions, external clients).
  • Experience developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)

  • Experience in provider enrollment and/or licensing functions
  • Experience in navigating provider and state portals
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).

Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Minimum pay is $16.36+
