It’s a whisky business choosing your next company.

The rise of remote work means Lead Software Developers have many choices nowadays, so it’s a perfect time to get a better job.

So, what could that look like for you?

Well, you want your toil to matter; leading a squad of developers working on a product with 22 million yearly users would be a good start.

You don’t want a stuffy, corporate environment anymore; in fact, you’d prefer an anti-corporate employer that accepts you and your team for who you are because when people feel accepted, anxiety disappears, and you’re free to do your most creative work.

It’d be great if work could fit around your life, so 90-95% remote working and unlimited holidays would be just the ticket.

Lastly, you want to sink your teeth into something juicy like taking a £60m e-commerce website, completely modernising an ageing tech stack into cutting-edge microservices.

On top of line management and mentoring, you’ll lead projects, plan sprints and be responsible for your squad's quality and output, as well as adding ideas to a roadmap already dripping with innovations.

You’ll be like a pirate enjoying the freedom of the open seas with 300 others at this disruptive, global drinks group that sticks two fingers up to the traditional suits and politics.

They produce world-beating spirits brands, have a prize-winning distribution agency, and the jewel in their crown is the UK’s premier alcohol e-commerce website.

You’ll need a background in modern C# / .NET Core / ASP.NET MVC / SQL Server environments and have previously worked in e-commerce.

You’ll have experience managing developers at the Lead Software Developer level, or you’ll have lots of mentoring experience and the ability to step up to the lead level.

You’re not scared of a bit of risk, you want to do the best work of your life, and you’re always looking for marginal gains and innovations.
