Job Description

Lead Platform Engineer (Technology Specialist I) - Digital and Technology Partners Remote/Hybrid, Req Required to be onsite once a week (every Thursday). Roles & Responsibilities: The Lead Platform Engineer will work on developing and maintaining on-premise and cloud big data infrastructure. Architect and develop big data infrastructure using proprietary and open-source technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, MongoDB, and Splunk. Architect and develop continuous deployment pipeline using technologies like, Docker Container, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps. Work on maintenance of Azure and On-premise infrastructure Work on maintenance of prod machine learning application and multiples data science pipelines Provide technical and engineering support for Linux servers administration, access controls for users, and management and administration of Microsoft Azure cloud. Mitigate the impact of the network, infrastructure, and application outages Develop and implement infrastructure monitoring and de-bugging solution using Splunk, Plotly and Nagios. Create weekly reports regarding the health of infrastructure and machine learning apps Lead identifying bottlenecks and bugs, and devising solutions to these problems Documentation of solutions (e.g. architecture, configuration) Provide effective knowledge transfer to the data engineers and data scientists to ensure an appropriate level of future self-sufficiency Provide mentorship for junior platform engineers Develop the infrastructure architecture strategies, standards, target architectures, and roadmaps Requirements: Basic Qualification: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (e.g. Information Technology, Software Engineering) 5 years of Infrastructure development and maintenance experience (distributed, highly available big data infrastructure) 3 years of Linux OS administration and automation, Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes Intermediate Knowledge of at least one programming language (Java, Python, Perl, Go, Scala) Knowledge of configuring and managing Linux and Window Servers Intermediate knowledge of configuring and managing Azure infrastructure (like Azure DevOps, Azure Kubernetes Services, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, etc.). Detailed working knowledge of networking and control access to hosting environments Preferred Qualification: Advanced knowledge of deployment orchestration and configuration management tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Terraform, Kubernetes) Knowledge of training and mentoring junior infrastructure engineer Over 7 years experience of managing highly distributed and available infrastructure Experience in managing hybrid infrastructure. Over 5 years of experience in maintaining prod infra and applications-continuous infra and app monitoring, daily and weekly reports, etc. Clinical Data Science Team Started by an MD, nurse and two engineers in 2017, the Clinical Data Science Team (CDS) has grown to be a 12-person team with a laser focus on building state of the art machine learning models and integrative dashboards and reports that provide clinical insights unavailable from any other system.
