Junior Cobol Developer - Remote Training

Interapt is bringing a remote training and an opportunity for you to break into the tech industry. We have a unique model to build tech talent at scale, with a commitment to bridge the IT talent and equity gap in communities throughout the United States.

Beginning January 2024 Interapt will launch a 12-week Cobol Developer immersive training program. Graduates of our program will be ready to launch a career as a Junior Cobol Developer. Classes are held virtually and run full-time, Monday through Friday, 8 hours a day.

The immersive program will provide a scholarship for Eleven (11) qualified individuals who desire the opportunity to build valuable Full Stack Software Engineering experience.

At the end of the program, students will be considered for an apprenticeship as a Jr. Cobol Developer supporting a premier Interapt client. Capacity to participate and successfully complete the full-time 12-week training program is required to pursue this opportunity.

In this comprehensive training program, participants will learn the fundamentals of COBOL programming, with a specific focus on utilizing IBM mainframe systems. COBOL, an acronym for "Common Business-Oriented Language," has been a critical language in the field of information technology for decades, especially in the context of maintaining and modernizing legacy systems. This immersive program will not only cover the essential COBOL concepts but also emphasize the importance of COBOL in maintaining and supporting the nation's critical infrastructure.
