Java Technical Lead - Software Engineering Manager - £100,000 (+ 2 x 20% Bonus)Manchester - FULLY REMOTE OR HYBRIDOne of the UK's leading technology organisations are entering a sustained period of hyper-growth and looking to double their tech team size in excess of over 1000 with software engineering at the very heart of it all. As a key part of this scaling process, they require a number of Java Technical Leads / Software Engineering Managers to join and work alongside fellow industry experts and build further solutions with the freedom to use the very latest technologies!As a Java Technical Lead / Software Engineering Manager you will be a mentor several squads and have multiple direct reports. You will use your experience and vision to direct these and deliver on real disruptive technology including large-scale distributed systems design and back-end distributed systems & data for their portfolio of high-volume services.You will naturally drive continuous improvement / development along with software development best practices & standards across the delivery of the services. Equally you will lead by example and mentor your squads to help them unlock potential and grow into the best possible engineers they can be, sharing all of your knowledge and experience to the best possible effect.You'll have a strong engineering background, and ideally still have the knowledge to remain hands-on now, along with excellent resource and people management and importantly strong communication skills.From a technical background perspective, you'll ideally have a deep knowledge of Java with experience of Java micro-service frameworks and building REST based APIs.
