Interacts with engineering groups to assist in the design changes to software. Involved in the full systems life cycle (SDLC), design, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance and support of Java web applications.GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESAnalyzes, programs, debugs, and modifies Java software enhancements and/or new products.Completes solution design and development based on understanding of business need, scope, and requirements.Interacts with product managers and/or users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.Participates in Java software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements.Configure, analyze, design, develop, and maintain full stack Java application code with Angular UI and spring boot to support an Enterprise RESTful web services application.Writes technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.Writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications using current programming languages and technologies.Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.Performs additional related duties as assigned.EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINESA Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience that is required for the specific job level.GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESDesired technical credentials should focus on object oriented design and programming in Java with an emphasis on spring boot and SQL Server desiredExperience with modern front end frameworks such as Angular desiredUnderstanding of TDD (Test Driven Development) and BDD (Behavioral Driven Development) a plusUnderstanding of Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) / Containers a plusFamiliarity in Cloud Technologies desired such as AWS a plusExperience with Terraform and Lambda a plusKnowledge of financial services industry a plusFamiliarity working in a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) leveraging an Agile principles desiredKnowledge of standards relevant to the software industryFluency in developing and understanding sequence diagrams, class models, etc.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e.g., executive, management, individual contributors)Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skillsAbility to persuade and influence others on the best approach to takeAbility to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completedPositive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external clients and contactsSoftware Engineer II Intermediate professional role. Proficient in at least two higher-level programming languages and knowledge of at least one systems development life cycle model. Understands the products, services, practices, regulations and operations associated with the assigned line of business. Conducts detailed analyses of all defined systems specifications for changes in systems requirements, business requirements or equipment configurations, and develops all levels of logic flow charts. Develops and prepares moderately complex computer programs, prepares program test data, tests and debugs programs. Documents all procedures used throughout the computer program when it is formally established. Receives general supervision and is competent in most phases of programming to work on own, and requires only some general direction for the balance of the activities. May assist and help train Entry-level software engineers.
