Job Description

CNO Financial Group's IT Business Unit is hiring an IT-Project Manager to manage the execution of several highly visible Cybersecurity Services initiatives that are necessary to continue to mature our cybersecurity posture. The role will leverage both traditional and agile project management methodologies for successful outcomes. This role coordinates, supports, and assists all aspects of a project from original concept through the final implementation, ensuring governance process adherence, project continuity, and stakeholder management. The role will lead between three to five concurrent projects, along with operational activities, with varying budgetary amounts. Projects will have frequent cross functional intersections with other teams requiring the ability to negotiate and deliver on commitments between teams. As an IT-Project Manager, your responsibilities will include: + Using traditional project management and agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions. + Training, mentoring, and supporting teams to follow agile values, principles, and practices where appropriate. + Determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items. + Scheduling and facilitating scrum events, project meetings, and decision-making processes. + Monitoring progress and performance and helping teams to make improvements. + Ensuring the proper use of collaborative processes and removing impediments for the team. + Tracking project processes, deliverables, and financials. + Preparing and presenting status reports to stakeholders. + Assist Sponsor/Product Owner with building and updating respective area roadmaps The IT-Project Manager position is well-suited for you if you have: + Working knowledge of traditional project management, covering project initiation, planning, execution, control and close. + Working knowledge of agile methodology, techniques, and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban, to deliver solutions. + Leadership and management experience. + Excellent people and project management skills. + Strong communication and presentation skills. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. What you'll need: + Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field, or 8 years of relevant work experience + Five years of experience in a technical project management and Agile/Scrum/Kanban + Three years of experience as a scrum master or in a similar role What will set you apart: + Project Management Professional (PMP) certification + Certified Scrum Master, SAFe preferred + Prior work experience in a Security role, or interest in learning more about Security This role is full time work from home (WFH), also known as Remote. This role can be performed from any US based location within the central or eastern time zone. CNO Financial Group offices reopened in April 2022 and is pursuing a hybrid working model. Associates who live within a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Philadelphia, Orlando and Milwaukee) will have access to come into that Office up to 2 days/week, and work from home at least 3 days/week. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
