Job Description

A business with their headquarters in York is looking to recruit a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing Infrastructure team. The role will involve a hybrid working arrangement, with the expectation to be in the office 3 or 4 days a week with 1 or 2 working from home. This is a really varied and interesting role which will involve duties including; responding to and dealing with escalations from 1st/2nd line teams, BAU support, server maintenance, patching and root cause analysis. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in installing, maintaining, managing and supporting systems, infrastructure and networks for various sites across the UK.

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of solid 2nd and 3rd Line Support, including an in-depth knowledge of cloud technologies, server support, networking and delivering projects. In this role, you will be encouraged to work closely with the current team whilst taking ownership of issues and use initiative whilst working effectively under pressure.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Public cloud experience - Azure and Office 365 expertise.
  • VMware and Hyper-V knowledge.
  • Knowledge of physical server hardware components.
  • Understanding of TCP-IP, routing protocols (BGP and OSPF).
  • Server builds.
  • Knowledge of Windows Servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, InTune and WSUS.
  • Experience working within an ITIL environment.
  • Customer focused; ability to liaise with people at all levels.
  • Full UK driving license.
