Absolutely!UL is creating one of the world's most complex online product and information centers, making billions of products, documents, and references available to multiple types of users and as our global footprint continues to grow, we are looking for an Application Architect with a focus on overall solution design and delivery of enterprise wide, multi-channel solutions that directly align with the needs of UL's customers.What you'll learn & achieve:• You'll be responsible for the creation and execution of an application implementation strategy focused on the delivery of online, customer facing business capabilities. • Support the core of the strategy which involves the design and construction of an optimised graph database architecture that promotes performance, scalability, ease of support, service reuse and security while delivering business value through an accelerated application system development lifecycle.• Translate client business requirements into specific end to end application solutions. This includes working with customers and UL thought leaders to understand the underlying business architecture and provide oversight over identification of functional requirements, creation of an appropriate technical design, construction activities, testing and deployment tasks.• Hands-on participation in data design and development.• Utilising industry and market knowledge of data design and architecture, this individual would be required to design and execute data flow for custom applications. • Familiarity with software engineering design and principles.• Create and establish working partnerships with various technology and business groups across UL• Produce system design documents and lead technical walkthroughs• Advanced experience with data analysis, validation and conversion• Design solutions to meet functional and non-functional requirements• Minimize technical exposure and risk on projects• Collaboration with business users to develop solutions that meet specific business objectives.• Partner with Infrastructure and Development Leads to understand, design, validate infrastructure impacts and execute architecture vision.• Consult with Project Management to coordinate solutions from technical perspective and minimise technical risk.• Liaise with Operations and support teams to take into account operational (non-functional) requirements.What makes you a great fit:• A relevant degree or equivalent experience gained through additional years working in IT• Proven background designing across multiple systems such as web applications, web services (both WCF and RESTful), data strategy, and reporting services.• You'll have strong working knowledge of Cloud environments and tools, ideally within an Azure environment• Experience developing software using Agile including planning and estimating work effort and task breakdown.• An excellent communication and meeting facilitator• Enthusiasm for data design and data trends• Experience in working with large companies that have complex and large data solutions (or similar) and previous experience with ETL• Demonstrated knowledge of industry trends and standards.• Exposure to .NET architecture.• Exposure to Data Architecture.• Graph / Neo4j / Cosmos DB experience• Interaction with Data Science & Data Engineering.• Highly skilled in Process AnalysisWhat you'll experience working at UL:• Mission: For UL, corporate and social responsibility isn't new.
