My client is a growing insurance brokerage with offices in 40 states. This agency is located in Oregon. They specialize in Large Senior Living Insurance and comprehensive Risk Management. This role focuses strictly on new business marketing and Carrier negotiations for large premium accounts which have multiple X-Dates throughout the year. You will be supported by a Marketing Coordinator who will assist you with preparing proposals and rate comparisons. You will work closely with your corresponding service side Account Executive with a focus on a rolling120 day look ahead. You will negotiate premiums and terms with insurance carrier underwriters, then prepare the proposal for the Account Executive Team so they can bind coverage. You will also lead internal discussions regarding the renewal risk strategy and will also meet with Carriers to stay abreast of changing appetites and new product offerings. The role requires strong follow up, ability to prioritize, and respond quickly to all stake holders.
This is a Mon to Fri permanent salaried full-time role. You will work from your home-based office in either the Pacific, Mountain, or Central time zones. They will consider East Coast provided you can be available to the team during core West Coast hours. The brokerage uses EPIC for agency management and Microsoft Teams for video communication. Key job aspects:
Performs insurance program analysis on existing accounts and provides renewal strategy recommendations to Producers and Account Service Team.
Sends out submissions to appropriate carriers in the marketplace (narrative, applications, loss history, etc.)
Negotiates premiums, coverages, terms and conditions on behalf of current and prospective clients.
Reviews and analyzes quotes received from carriers.
Prepares and delivers professional and accurate proposals and quote comparisons to Producers and Account Service Teams for presentation to clients and prospects
Submits orders to bind coverage to carriers and delivers binding confirmation to Account Service Teams.
Must be able to manage a high level of insurance related information in a variety of formats and be able to identify appropriate carriers for unusual risks in a timely manner.
Must be detail oriented and possess the ability to comprehend complex multi-line insurance program structures.
Meets with insurance carrier underwriters and marketing personnel to develop business relationships and become familiar with carrier appetites in various classes of business.
Follows up with insurance carrier underwriters to answer questions and solicit quotes for new business.
Communicates regularly with and serves as a market resource for Producers and Account Service Teams.
Maintains marketing database including carrier products & services, as well as client and prospect files.
Assists in executing marketing strategies and objectives.
Follows company procedures with respect to all essential duties and responsibilities of the job.
Must regularly work with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
Must possess a desire to provide an exceptional customer experience.
Coaching and mentoring of team members.
To be considered for the role, candidates MUST have experience working in a brokerage doing Carrier Marketing specifically with large layered property and casualty accounts. Knowledge of Professional Coverages in D & O, EPLI, and Cyber are also desired. Knowledge of the Senior Living Marketplace is a huge plus, but not required. P & C license is required. Insurance certifications are strongly desired.
